    AIRB & AIRD Help

jrichker, this diagram is awesome. Can you tell me though, am I correct in assuming that the vacuum source should be connected to the lower of the nipples on each solenoid? I've seen it shown both ways in various depictions. Was hoping that yours shows the "correct" orientation.

Need Help ! Trick flow top end kit problems

You don't need to use a spacer with the trick flow intake and a BBK FPR. All you have to do is bend the fuel line very slightly so that it moves the FPR down slightly. Then there is 0 clearance problems anywhere. Somewhere around 18 degrees base.

How do I fix TB Whistle...

I drilled a hole into the throttle body plate in the same size and location as the the stock throttle body. This seemed to lessen the whistling sound significantly.

    bushing kits for rearend....

Yeah you got to heat them good with a torch -- the rubber bushings are glued to the shell. I found that using a 3-jaw puller in conjuction with heating the bushing shell worked really well. I was able to use the puller to "push" the rubber bushings out of the casing.

    Good cam for stock heads/intake

Buddy's recommendation is based on a stock headed/intake car with a free-flowing aftermarket exhaust. The thinking goes, that since you've removed the exhaust restriction, you don't need the additional help of a split-duration cam on the exhaust side anymore.

Felpro 1250 Intake Gaskets Are Trash!!

AS for the failure near the #1 water port.. Are you trimming the tab off the gasket that protrudes into each water port? Also, 25 ft/lbs seems a bit high to torque the intake manifold.. A lot of the aluminum head/intake guys are tightening them to 18-20 ft/lbs. Are you putting the side...

    331 or 347?

AFR's are better across the board. There is no reason not to go to them..

Is there a way to make the C&L 73 MM MAF work with my combo without a custom tune?

You can't use pro-m calibrated electronics with a C&L. The elecronics you have are set up for a pro-m mass airflow sensor and the 24 lbs injectors. This is nothing remotely resembling the stock MAF electronics and its "calibration". What you are trying to do simply will not work right...

    losing coolant, headgasket?

Buy or rent a head gasket leak detector. They are used to detect combustion gasses in your cooling system. This will tell you definitively whether or not you have a leaky headgasket.

    cam swap

If he bent up pushrods and what not, then he clearly had a valvetrain problem. He didn't check clearances (valve seal to retainer clearance, coil bind, rocker interference, etc) or he just flat out didn't install something right the first time. I would seriously hesistate to use that cam...

    You've got it installed correct.

C&L causes me to run lean?

Yes, a conical filter attached to the end of the C&L will make it run leaner. The C&L was "calibrated" to work with your stock airbox. Install your stock airbox back on and your car will not run as lean. Sounds like you might have other issues as well. Check for codes, or borrow a buddy's...

    f303 in automatic 93

You won't be able to run stock springs with an f cam. The lift is too much.. Same thing with e cam and 1.7s.. You will absolutely need to upgrade springs. Also an automatic is going to be a complete dog with that cam, unless you're running at least a 3000-3500 rpm stall converter....

Cobra or Edelbrock Intake for AFR 165's

Ported, both the performer and cobra will be a very good match to the AFR heads. I doubt you will see a difference in performance either way. If you go to FTI's website, and look at some of Ed Curtis's combos.. The ported cobra guys are running the same times as the edelbrock intake guys.. I...

edelbrock performer intake to much for my car?

A 70mm throttle body isn't going to make the slightest difference in lower-end torque. The intake manifold runner length and size is what will affect that (if any). Not sure what the opening size is on a performer, but with the trick flow street heat I ran, the stock throttle body would have...

Is my cam too big? Cam sheet inside FTI

Wow... Lemme get this straight.. You've got a camshaft and engine spec'd by Ed Curtis at FTI and you're asking a bunch of internet forum jockeys if they think Ed Curtis was wrong? Man, you put too much faith in people on internet forums.. Why don't you ask Ed Curtis if he thinks it will clear...
