    X heads are good heads...as stated above once ported on the exhaust side they are wicked...but really so is every head...the downfall is the price...they are pricey...I made 297/314 RWHP/RWTQ with those heads and a GT-40 intake...FTI cam...on a stock bottome end 302...I also busted a head gasket...

    UPDATE So the other day I did a compression test on cyl #3 and it was 60 psi...the others were around 150 psi...However, the pressure stayed in the cylinder...at 60 psi until I took the gauge off...SO what would cause such a loss in psi? It can't be a bent valve...because the pressure stayed...

    if you don't want to spend arm and a leg on springs...Ford Racing makes a set that have a higher spring pressure...135# on the seat unlike the ones from AFR that are 120...the Ford Racing springs can support .600 and they are like $70 form Summit...I have them on my 165's...no probs yet...I also...

    DO IT!...if you have your TW's ported...the stage I is not enough!...with a custom cam...you be at, at least .550 lift (not that it matters really)...a custom cam will work to optimize your combo...

    I'm running stud mount rockers...The heads have been milled to 54cc...The cam is the same cam that Dave (5spdGT) is running...so you can ask him how he likes it... :D to get a second opinion...Yeah...you're right about the timing...its set at 18*...haven't really had an opertunity to "tune"...
