Thanks for the feedback... PCV valve is fine...also, no points, I have the crane xr-i electronic ignition. I rebuilt the carb saturday and that didn't change anything. Also took valve covers off to see if anything looked odd, everything seemed fine. Used the timing light on each plug wire...

I agree it sounds like a vacuum leak, but I couldn't find any. I'll try the intake gaskets...hopefully i'll find something....

I'm sick of my holley 600 cfm carb...seriously considering an Edelbrock Thunder Series AVS 500 cfm carb. My 289 has some head work and a mild cam, this seems to be a good fit. Has anybody tried this carb? like it? hate it?

Timing seems fine, it won't idle down low enough to check it, but twisting the distributor doesn't help anything. Changed the coil, in will now idle, but barely...cuts out when i put it in gear. I'm thinking about a carb rebuild, any other suggestions?

How do I remove the center dash panel in an '05 mustang? Its the panel with the two air vents on it, above the radio. I'm wanting to mount my gps to the panel, but can't find an obvious way to remove it.

Try adjusting the idle mixture screws on the carb; screw them all the way in (counting how many turns just for reference) then screw them out 1.5 turns. Depending on your carb, there are either 2 of these screws or 4 of them. Search for a picture of them if your not sure which screws they are...
