Do any of you guys own a 2017-2023 Ford F150 with a 10 speed transmission?

I've got a 2018 with the 10 speed. There are times when the transmission feels a little weird at slow speeds (clunky shifting, mushy) and the occasional clunky shift under moderate acceleration but it's not terrible. If I had a choice I'd go with the 6 speed. Love the coyote engine, lots of...

    Dyno numbers

I'd guess 280-300 if you get it retuned. I had a very similar combo in my '88 GT and it put down 300 to the wheels with 65mm explorer TB and GT-40 intake with ported lower. Also the heads had some port work done as well. I would add the 24# injectors, maybe even go 30 if you are going to...

Progress Thread 85 Mustang newbie trying to be a good Dad

I'm also restoring foxbody mustang with my son - our project is an '86 t-top. Check out this site for all things wiring - they make some harnesses that will work for your '85: https://www.ronfrancis.com/ I'll probably go this route pretty soon when we get to wiring. Good luck and have fun!

Electrical Calling all wiring guys - absolute head scratcher

We just solved a very similar problem on my son's '86. It wouldn't idle cold for more than a few seconds. Turned out to be the TFI module.

Electrical New Wiring Harness for '86 - recommendations needed

Thanks, I hadn't seen the complete harness for '87-93 available from LMR. It might be best to start with that and then modify as necessary. We're running a Dakota Digital instrument cluster so that would make it alot easier to adapt to the '86.

Electrical New Wiring Harness for '86 - recommendations needed

So we decided to replace the wiring harness in my son's '86 GT. I haven't seen any vehicle specific harnesses available. I'm look at a few of the Ron Francis harnesses. Has anyone re-wired their Mustang, and if so, what harness did you go with and what recommendations do you have?

Engine White smoke out of tail pipes

My guess is that the fusible link blew and the previous owner just cut it out instead of replacing it with a fuse. I would put an inline fuse there.

Engine White smoke out of tail pipes

Also you can send in an oil sample to Blackstone Labs and for $30 they will tell you everything you need to know about your engine including if you have coolant making it into the oil. I have them test the oil once per year on each of my vehicles. They will tell you if you have bearing wear...

Engine White smoke out of tail pipes

That black wire with the orange stripe goes across the front of the car to the alternator and charges the battery. There was a fusible link on that wire that was removed hence the butt splice. If your battery is charging when the engine is running then that's not your problem.

Electrical '86 Door lock wires - removed old alarm...

Yes I agree. It looks like they cut these wires to hook up relays. I can't find the other ends of the wires, so I'm wondering if there was a connector attached that they cut off? There is a 4-wire connector that is loose and not connected to anything. If I put +12v to either of these wires...

Electrical '86 Door lock wires - removed old alarm...

The PO of my son's '86 GT installed this nutty alarm with keyless entry. We removed the alarm and discovered they did a real hack job on the wiring. We got everything working again except the door locks. We are left with these 2 pink wires with nothing to connect them to. They are behind the...

    Fox Body Autocross Project

I can really appreciate the success you have had with your '04 V6 Mustang. It's a great teaching example for my son about not following the herd. Do something different and do it well!

    Fox Body Autocross Project

I love your youtube channel, keep the vids coming. My 16 year old son and I are following your formula to build his '86 t-top into an autocross car. I'm also modifying my '68 mustang for autocrossing. We love your approach of doing common sense and inexpensive mods to get the results. I've...

94 Cobra Progress Thread (formerly Help Me Decide Thread)

Agree with Dave. Unless you are very experienced with a rotary buffer do not use one. Way too easy to burn paint off of an edge. Get a good DA polisher and either foam or microfiber pads and Meguiars 205. It is pretty mild on the paint bit has just enough cut to remove light swirl marks. You can...
