Gentlemen Do Not Start Your Engines !

about 14 years ago i had my '66 idling so it could defrost when it jumped into reverse. Luckily we had a large front yard and I was young and fast enough to catch up to it, fling the door open and slam on the brakes. I probably couldn't do that now. It was an automatic. We traced the problem...

    Brake Ducts In Steel Apron?

Unless the apron is dead flat where you want to put the holes, i'd be worried about the punch warping the metal.

    Brake Ducts In Steel Apron?

is anyone running brake ducts in the factory steel apron? My car is almost ready for paint, so I'm trying to get any last body mods done before then. I live in WA, and we have to run a front plate here, no way around it. I originally wanted to use a street apron, but there is no way to make a...

Don't be intimidated. Just take your time to make sure everything is out of the way. Get the balance bar, they aren't that expensive and they are totally worth it.

you might also want to consider cutting out a piece of thin plywood to go between your radiator and water pump to help prevent damage in case your engine swings forward a bit too far.

you can pull it with or without the transmission. It will separate at the bellhousing at the rear of the block. I prefer to pull the engine with the transmission, although you might have to lift the car up on jack stands to get the clearance to angle the transmission out.

One Piece Floor Pan In A Convertible

I caved and just cut the floor pan. I cut it straight back from the inside edge of the torque boxes on both sides. There was no way that thing was going in there. I had a hard enough time getting the side pieces in by themselves. In other news, the floor is about 80% in. I just need to...

One Piece Floor Pan In A Convertible

my problem isn't with the inner rockers, it's the rear seat area. There's a part in the car that comes down from the side of the seat back and connects to the inner rocker. I have to get the floor under that piece and I see no way of doing it.

One Piece Floor Pan In A Convertible

So I'm trying to get this one piece floor pan into my '65 convertible. How is this supposed to fit in there!? The front section is no problem, but i don't see a way to get the rear seat area bent down and under the pieces that run on the outside of where the top spring things/hydraulics go...

    Paint And What To Expect

The car is going to be a driver, so it will eventually get some nicks and scratches. I don't want to pay for a show quality job and then just ruin it on a random Wednesday on my way to work. I still want it to look good though. Do you think including the body work, etc. I can get by with 5k?

    Paint And What To Expect

Hey guys, My '65 convertible is Finally just about done with the metal replacement. I've been slacking, but I figure in a few weeks to a month I'll be ready for paint. I know paint can vary in price, but what would you expect to pay for a non show quality but still good looking paint job...

    Radiator Support Measurements.

Hey guys, I'm replacing my radiator support and front fender aprons. The old ones had some front end damage so I didn't bother to measure their locations. Can someone get me the dimensions from the front of the support to something farther back, like the front edge of the cowl on each side...

    dynacorn fender apron bolt spacing

does anyone know if the dynacorns are actually two pieces welded together, or if they are just one solid piece? If they are one solid piece then I may end up trying another set of the cheap ones.

    dynacorn fender apron bolt spacing

I wasn't going to pull the rears out, just cut the front part off of the dynacorn ones. It's either that or take my chances on another one of these.

    dynacorn fender apron bolt spacing

I was told that it was when I bought it, but after looking at the part number and searching around the net, I think it's someone else's. The part number on it is M116L. I bought it from a local place a few months ago. It doesn't appear that dynacorn sells the individual fender aprons for the...

    dynacorn fender apron bolt spacing

well i went over there and took some pictures. It looks like the stamping is correct, but the holes are just in the wrong spots. the tag on the new piece says it's for 64-66. I think I just got a bad one.

    dynacorn fender apron bolt spacing

The holes are off by at least a couple of inches. The car is in my dad's shop so i can't get any pics of it right now. There's no way my old fenders would line up with them. It's an early '65, which is why i was wondering if ford ever changed the bolt spacing. I will get some pics tomorrow.

    dynacorn fender apron bolt spacing

I guess I'm not sure what to do. I can either butcher the crap out of this new piece so the holes will line up with my old fenders, or I suppose I could replace the front and rear aprons, then get dynacorn fenders.
