Went to look at 05 Mustang Today...my thoughts pictures...sticker shock

My apologies. I did misread your intent on the comment on the guages. Sorry for the flame. I happened to have just gone over an '05 GT inside and out the previous day, and came away thoroughly impressed with it. No hard feelings, eh? :nice:

Went to look at 05 Mustang Today...my thoughts pictures...sticker shock

It's a freakin' Mustang Regarding your concern with the guages, I suggest you get your glasses checked. The hash marks are close together numbers are sparsely populated, BUT they are so large and well illuminated that only octogenarians should have difficulty reading them. As far as the...

    inspection in NJ

State inspection is free in NJ, as long as you bring it to one of the state run facilities. http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/cleanair/index.html If your car is illegal, you'll have to bring it to a shop and grease some palms.

    SLP Loudmouth

I had the SLP catted X and Loudmouth cat back combo until very recently. It sounds perfect at the dragstrip or for AutoX events, and it's better than flipping the bird when you're passing some a**hole blocking the left lane on the highway. The Loudmouth also has the nicest tail pipe tips I've...

How do I make my 2v breathe like a 4v?

How so? Power will be a little better than the Mach, but I'll still have the crappy GT interior. How expensive is a good P&P and valve job? If I'm not mistaken, it's about $1K to do new cams (installed) on the SOHC, right?

How do I make my 2v breathe like a 4v?

So, I drove my father-in-law's 2003 Mach 1 yesterday, and I have to say that 4v motor is amazing. It just loves to rev and the throttle response is incredible! It makes my 2v feel like a pushrod motor with lazy valve springs. :( So, is there a cost effective way to make my 2v have that...

    the LoudMouth is off...

Well, since I cruise at 80 to 90, a little less rpm at that speed would be nice. 3.73 would be just a hair over 2400 at 80. Plus, 1st is just too short with the 3.90. Then again, maybe with a quieter exhaust, 2500 rpm@80 won't be so bad. :D

    the LoudMouth is off...

I see a lot of Magnaflow votes. Is there any drone with that system? I cruise at about 80 which is approx. 2500 rpm with my gears. Zinc03GT: the 3.90s are great. If I had it to do again, I might have gone with 3.73s but I'm definitely not dissapointed with the ratio I got. 5th gear is...

Thanks, man. Guess I had bad information. Magnaflow goes back on the list... :nice:

    the LoudMouth is off...

So after about six months, I've decided the SLP Loudmouth is named that way for a good reason. Unfortunately, my daily driver, a '93 Probe GT, is dying. No surprise with 180K miles on the clock. So the 'Stang has to take over daily driver duties and the Loudmouth is a bit much for my 50 mile...

Does your SLP X-Pipe hang low?

Yeah, the SLP X is way low. I scraped a few times even before I installed my H&R SS springs. Now I scrape all the time. It's a shame because their catback fits perfectly.

    h&r ss owners

I've still got the stock shocks/struts with my SS springs. There is a little too much oscillation for my taste when I hit a sharp bump, but money is a finite resource. :D As far as bottoming out, I've got the SLP catted X and I do scrape the cats fairly easily. That's more an issue with...

    Diablo Sport chip question

When I got my DiabloSport, the speedshop needed the code printed right on the computer. BTW, I wouldn't use the chip before getting a fresh program flashed on it for your mods.

    Diff. fluid question

So, I had my 3.90s installed last week and I've been smelling gear oil all week. Today I put the Stang up in the air to check it out and it looks like the filler plug wasn't tightened all the way and is leaking. What is the proper fill level and what type of fluid should I add if it's low...

SLP Catted X pipe with lowered car

it's not your imagination The SLP catted X hangs the cats lower than the stock H. If you put the SLP pipe on the ground next to the stock H you'll see that the pipe section that connects to the exhaust manifold is significantly taller than the same section on the stock pipe. I installed the...

    Hanging RPM's while shifting.

this works I can vouch for the fact that the copper pipe cap works but if you make the hole too small, it will cause the IAC to fail and throw an SES light. My IAC failed with a 3/16 hole. I found a 5/16 hole worked well, but when the engine is cold, it tends to stumble a bit on...

    Official Tremec 3650 Issues Thread

same problem here Same issue here. The car (2003 GT, purchased 3/29/03 with 30 miles on the odo.) has exhibited the 1-2 clunk/grind since brand new. I figured once the trans and shifter were broken in, it the condition would go away. So such luck so far. 3500 miles, and the condition still...
