Just meant that most 5.0's eventually develope a small rain main seal leak. I think the seal on mine dries out from sitting so much.

Thanks guys. What pump are you running? I read on the Dart website that a high volume pump is not needed on the new Dart blocks because of the new oiling system.

Are you running the stock oil pump and pick up or aftermarket? I went to Summit and they state you need to run a Moroso girdle if you run the stock pump. What setup are you running?

For any of you guys running the Dart SHP, what oil pan are you guys using. Have decided to build a 331 and am using the Dart SHP as the block. I want to run a 7 qt pan and am looking for recommendations from guys who have the same setup. This is for my 87 GT. Thanks.

In the process of pulling motor right now, hence the oil pan replacement. Now is the time to do it.

It's not going to change anything, it just allows you to run more oil. More oil will reduce temps somewhat and with the blower, I like the idea of having more oil to circulate. Thanks for the replies guys.
