    Noisy valvetrain...

After watching your vid clip, I don't think you have the proper preload on your lifters. Yes you will have some noise from the rockers but, Yours are much more than mine and I am running a solid lifter cam with .022 gap.

Could I have the wrong flywheel?

From your pic's posted, you have the wrong starter. It is a short nosed automatic starter, it will never contact the flywheel correctly. Some minor grinding to the blockplate opening to allow the starter install may be required, but wait till you have the right starter motor before doing it.

Your best bet is to take a impact socket and pound it on the lock lugs and remove them all and replace with a new set.

Ignition Switch Wiring Pertronix Type Question (from a newbie)

Removal of the pink wire is done in various ways. Depends on what your up to doing. The pink wire is hidden in the main harenss behind that inst cluster. There is a very short end visable at the ing key plug and sometimes at the end of the main harness. You can add a bypass wire with...

gas tank sucking air in through the pop down cap

Repo flip down covers are not vented and are for show only as stated on the box. I drilled a 1/16 hole in the caps center for venting, and it does not spill out. Only other way is to have a vented cap under the flip down cover.

    Best way to lift motor

2+2Gt ahs perfect placement for installing. Its just my 2cts but I would install the steering system and braking system BEFORE installing eng/trans. The extra working room will make your life easier than working around the installed eng.

    1971 ingnition switch

Hard to tell form the pic, but it looks like it is not deep enough for tumbler. Best to measure the replacement for depth. If it is, then some minor work on the collar may be the easiest fix.

    1971 ingnition switch

Removing the col lock is the same as the 70. Removal of the collar takes pulling the TS switch up and loosening the 2 lock down nuts and lift the key rod out of the lock. Has the PO damaged the mounting for the lock cyl?

    In car cam change question

Short answer... No. But I would try it anyways. But you may have enough room to twist the condenser upward enough to slide out the cam with some help holding it. Might envlove removing the hood latch and horns and ect to allow room to work.

    how hot is too hot?

A 180* stat will run at approx 187* in its fully open position. I run a 180 in my 351CJ and it stays right at 185 while running down the road. Sitting in traffic it will climb to about 192* but drops back down after getting in motion. This is what you should see when the cooling system is...

    Thermostat troubleshooting 1972/351c

The 351C has a removable brass plate with an approx 7/8 hole. The 351M is cast into the block. If the plate has been installed for some time they look cast. While the Shaw stat is expensive, they work perfectly. Summit racing sells them if you can't find one local.
