    T-Lock shifter, anyone have it?

Resurrecting this old post to see if there is any more feedback on this product since 2009. Any issues after extended use? Seems like it would be a little added security when out and about.

    Convertible Subwoofer Location

Iskwezm, thanks for the advise. I really like the idea of a self-powered sub and putting it behind the back seat. I took a look back there and there is not a whole lot of room. If I put it between the seatback bars, there is 11WX14HX4D. I looked through Amazon and didn't find anything with...

    Convertible Subwoofer Location

I'm looking for some options to increase the bass in my 68 convertible. My current set up is a RetroSound RC900C radio, 4-channel 50/w RMS amp and Pioneer 6.5 kick panel speakers. Highs and mids sound OK, but zero bass. My thought was to build a hump hugger subwoofer box that would fit behind...

    Another Radio Question

In case anyone else was interested in the mystery plug on this unit. Here's the response I got from RetroSound: The Retro Classic does not have the internal components that operate the digital inputs. The cable was a carryover from the Model One. It cost us less to produce the unit with the...

    Another Radio Question

I just installed the Retrosound RC-900C unit in my 68. It doesn't sound bad after you get all the settings adjusted. There is a connection on the back for USB, but I not sure abut the connection. What type of adapter cable does this use? Thanks,

    Borgeson stearing question

If your going for a stock look, you might give the Ford pump a try first. I have the Borgeson box with the stock Ford PS pump. At idle in drive, my RPMs are around 600. The increased effort is barely noticable. It is nothing like a non-PS car. If it's not to your liking, you can easily add...

    Borgeson Ps Box Adjustments

Thanks for the responses. No insult on checking everything else. I did recheck all the other components: rag joint, pitman arm, centerlink, tie rod ends and idler arm. All seem very tight. I did replace all the steering parts recently trying to make my old PS work. I finally made the jump...

    Borgeson Ps Box Adjustments

I did send Borgeson an email as well. There are quite a few experts on this forum, so trying to cover my bases.

    Borgeson Ps Box Adjustments

I installed the Borgeson PS conversion about a year ago and all was well initially. Now after about 4k miles, the box seems to not be as tight as when it went in and the play at center has increased. Anyone else had this problem? Any adjustments I can make to tighten things back up? I...

Routing P/S Hoses to Borgeson Box

There is still some free play, but it is very minimal compared with the stock set up. It is not R&P, but way better than before. My take is that this is a very good middle of the road mod for those of us that want problem free P/S with better than stock feel. I haven’t tried to adjust the...

Routing P/S Hoses to Borgeson Box

It is slightly harder steering at idle, but not a whole lot different from stock P/S. My idle RPM in drive is about 600. I had considered buying the new pump, but glad I didn't invest the $s. The only reason I see for getting the Borgeson pump is if you like the looks. To some this mod up...

Routing P/S Hoses to Borgeson Box

I came to the conclusion that I would have to get hoses made. It came out pretty good routing through the stock bracket. I may have to modify the rubber in the bracket a bit to get more header clearance, but looks much better. I'm not sure why Borgeson didn't do a bit more R&D on the hoses...

Routing P/S Hoses to Borgeson Box

The Borgeson box install on my 68 went well and I can't believe the difference in the way the car drives. True night & day difference. The only thing I don't like is the way the hoses route across the inner fender. It looks terrible and also I get some vibration from the hoses at low speeds...

I dislike the USA-630 even more now.

Glad I read this as I was just about to spend a few $100s on a 4 channel amp. Is there anything you can do to these USA-630s to make them sound better? I'm just about ready to put the stock radio back in for looks and add a reciever to the glove box again. I didn't like that set up, but it...

    Analyzing Your Timeslip

Resonse to some of the questions: - Tires are street radials Firestone Firehawk (not much stick on these) - Limited slip differential I'm going again in a few weeks and will work on my 60' times. I think I can launch a lot harder. I really wasn't getting much tire spin off the line.

    Analyzing Your Timeslip

Thanks for the feedback. I did look at the mph between 1/8 and 1/4. I think that might be due to needing to replace the weather stripping on my top. Toward the end of the track it was like being in a hurricane. People were telling me my top was ballooned out which was probably working...

    Analyzing Your Timeslip

I finally took my car to the track and was a bit disappointed with my ETs. I'm pretty sure it's more me and less the car, but I'm not exactly sure what I need to work on. Does the information on the timeslip give me clues as to what I'm doing wrong? My best run was: - R/T = .117 - 60' =...

    Power Ram Adjustment

I noticed today that the 2 nuts holding the power steering ram to the frame had backed out. Is there any adjustment needed on these or do you just tighten them snug to the bracket?
