1977 cobra II roller for sale

Can you give us more information? Maybe more photos? Are there any issues with the chassis? Any rust? Clean title? I'm not totally opposed to the 12-hour drive, if I know it's worthwhile.

    power steering ?

I'm in the minority here, I much prefer a power rack. That may not make me as manly, but I much prefer the quicker steering of the power rack - 3 turns lock-to-lock vs 4 turns lock-to-lock.

    Need trans swap info

We're in complete agreeance. Excuse a little nerdonics: The v can be represented by 2*pi*r*rpm, giving v in in/min. In case 1 and 2, the rpm is the same, so, m(1)*[2*pi*rpm*r(1)]^2/r(1)=m(2)*[2*pi*rpm*r(2)]^2/r(2) m(1)*[2*pi*rpm]^2*[r(1)]^2/r(1)=m(2)*[2*pi*rpm]^2*[r(2)]^2/r(2)...

    Need trans swap info

That would be clear if we bothered to use the right terminology for it. The late model flywheel is a 50oz-in, not a 50oz flywheel. 50 ounces x 1 inch from centerline = 50oz-in, or 25 x 2, or 10 x 5, or whatever it really is x wherever it really is = 50 ounce-inches. I did a quick bit of...

    Stock? 76 302

MM&FF did a comparison of various heads a few years back and I was surprised to see the '86 heads made more power than the E7T's below 4000rpm. (Barely more, but more) But over 4 grand, the '86 heads dropped off the chart. Not a complete p.o.s., but misapplied in a Mustang - better suited to...

    Stupid rear end question

So there's no such thing as a KC with Traction-Lok? 'hard to believe. Traction-Lok was included with the Rallye Package, according to: http://www.mustangii.net/1978/78opt.asp

    My wheels/your thoughts

Drag radials don't mix well with solo II / extreme handling conditions. Autocross tires have extra stiff sidewalls. Drag radials have extra soft sidewalls.

    1975 wheels 13" vs. 14"

To keep the speedometer reading the same, you need a tire with the same overall diameter or same revolutions per mile. I couldn't find size data on the original, but MVMA specs lists all tires for the 75 II at 888 revs/mi. I don't think that's quite right (195/70-13 should be about 849...

    II Blue

All three of my II's had flex fans as stock. All three were replaced under recall for potential to crack and separate. I thought the original V8 fans were 17", with the shroud extending almost above the radiator. I think Megan's biggest problem is the lack of a factory shroud. Without it, at...

    Lets Talk Tires!

A 265/50-14 is more like 24.5" tall. I've always liked the look of the T/A, and I think this will look great. It would be better with a little more backspacing to get it tucked up a bit more. I've always liked the idea of using them for the street, 245/50-14 in the front and 265/50-14 in the...

    Mustang II popularity

This is true. Ford's press releases for the 'new' 79 Mustang claimed it to be lighter than its predecessor. Check the MVMA data, a decked out Cobra II could easily weigh 3250lbs. Of course that's still a whole lot lighter than my 97 Cobra @ 3390. http://mustangii.net/1978/78_mvma_27.asp...

who sells the cobra brake kits to go on mustang 2's

The guy in this link did it by making his own brackets. For hubs, he used Granada rotors with the rotor cut off. http://corner-carvers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22199 There are a couple of companies making big brake kits (13") for the Mustang II front end. Baer and Wilwood come to mind...

    Sway Bar Size

If you are suggesting that my '78 without rear bar originally came with a rear bar, I would say, um.. not likely. I bought it in '83, and it showed no signs of ever being modified. It's unlikely anyone went through the trouble to change spring/shock/shackle plates just to remove the rear bar...

    Sway Bar Size

I have 2 78's. One has the rear bar, one does not. To my knowledge, the rear bar was always part of the competition suspension package. I also thought the upgraded front bar was 7/8". The biggest aftermarket front bar I've found is 1", which is not stiff enough. Anyone find anything bigger...

    Project, need help.

Nobody mentioned that the '75 and up Ghia's have the opera window. When you pull the vinyl, you'll be looking at an ugly plastic filler panel that makes up the difference between the Ghia glass and the regular coupe glass. You will need to replace the glass and the trim - both inside and...
