8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

Not really complaining about my car, complaining about the lack of knowledge on this site. So you keep that there maxipad for yourself chief. Haven't had much use for any of the "help" on here so I don't think I'm going to start with your offer.

8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

See, you make it seem like everyone on here has a big block 5-speed mustang. I use carbs, oddball motors, custom parts, and an 85 Mustang which is very different from an 87-93. So its not so easy to build when everyone else has fuel injection and a 302 with some heads and mufflers. Besides...

8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

Shut yer trap XP8, this site sucks for tech advice, admit it. I'm sorry I don't have a hot rod noise dictionary. I did mention that it didn't make the noise until I installed the new brakes. It doesn't sound like a moan either, its actually a long drawn out fart squeal low trumpet noise. Is...

8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

Its funny nobody had a clue until I mention the anti-moan braces, and then once I do everybody tells me, oh yeah, I was just going to say that. I originally posted this over a month ago. They cost me $50 for the pair through the dealer.

8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

Not surprising, once again I've had to answer my own post. The moaning is caused by poor Ford engineering. This is so common of a problem with rear disc brakes on the 8.8 that Ford created Anti-moan braces for newer style Fords. They bolt to the caliper mounts and transfer the resonance to...

8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

Also, there is no need to remove anything else but the cross pin and the axles, never touched any gears or anything other than that.

8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

Its a moaning noise, and it goes away when you pull the tires and calipers. I dont think its the rearend.

8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

I'm really starting to get dissatisfied with the help on Stangnet, I've been posting and helping people on here for years but it seems when I ask a question that isn't about mufflers or CAI, people have no clue or don't want to help.

8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

That isn't an option nor is it really the issue. Like I said, it didnt start doing this till I pulled the axles to change the brake setup. Why would that be the shops fault? I should clarify. I did NOT touch the carrier or gears or remove anything but the axles AFTER it had over 1000 miles...

8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

I have an 8.8 rearend with an Auburn Pro diff, 31 spline axles, and 95+ 5 lug disc brakes. I had the rearend built by a shop, and its just never felt right. I took the axles out to put in the new brakes and now that its back together it does this humming whine thats very loud especially when...

    QA1 coilover strut rebound??

Well since nobody here knows anything about QA1 coilover struts, I'll answer the question for you. No they do not spring back up when you depress them because they are not gas charged like typical struts and shocks.

    QA1 coilover strut rebound??

Do the aftermarket QA1 coilover struts behave differently than regular struts. When I compress them, they don't rebound back, but they have resistant pushing them down or pulling them up. These are brand new so I doubt they are bad. Anybody else ever experience this?

    X2 ball joints, UPR K-member and 96 A arms??

Sold the QA1 K-member and tubular A-arms, and installed the UPR chromemoly K-member and stock 95 control arms with the X2 balljoints. Just waiting on the 95 spindles and cobra M/C.

    X2 ball joints, UPR K-member and 96 A arms??

And I forgot, QA1 coilovers and steel C/C plates.

    X2 ball joints, UPR K-member and 96 A arms??

Yeah, thats what he told me. He sounded almost weirded out when I mentioned them. I just thought it was strange considering that so many people talk about the tubular A arms, and so many people lower their cars, but nobody talks about these balljoints not being compatible. This will be my...

    X2 ball joints, UPR K-member and 96 A arms??

So I just installed the UPR K-member for my 85 GT. I also have the 79-93 A-arms from QA1, but I have a problem. If you listen to all the hype about steering geometry then I need to get the Steeda X2 balljoints to correct the alignment problems from lowering the vehicle. The problem is that...

    QA1 coilover, K-member suspension problems!!!

Thats the problem, the bushings are intended to correct geometry when you lower the vehicle, not help clear another part. someone else said they were spaced farther apart and that is also what the UPR sales rep told me, and because of that they had to squeeze the two together to get the rack to...

    QA1 coilover, K-member suspension problems!!!

Listen Stang&2birds, stop trying to act like mister know-it-all. I dont live in Socal and I'm not listening to internet BS. I've owned this car for 9 years and it has never rubbed. If you want to call me a liar then go ahead. I'm tired of idiots telling me I can't do things when I've already...
