That does seem low. Previous owner of my z28 claimed it dynoed at 270 to the wheels with intake elbow, cold air intake, no cat, slp loudmouth and dyno tune. 1995 model also. No LS1.
I think my GT would dyno at like 180. Its a dog.
The wiper cowl does pop out. It breaks very easily so be careful. Mine snapped in 2 places during the hood install. Hood sat alittle to far back it and hit. Snapped it in 2 places very easily.
Nitrous is also in my near future. I have a 255lph pump going in soon. Just have to get a day off work/school so I can get it installed. Once I get my tranny situation under control nitrous is definitely coming.
I get 170 miles per tank. Guy on the 94-95 were talking about gas mileage...said they were impressed with the mileage our cars get. I'm not its pitiful. Brothers Z gets way better mileage and its way faster.
The stroke/bore, firing order, exhaust, compression all makes a difference in sound.
The Camaro exhaust setup is a nightmare. One thing I hated about my z28's.
GM has been doing sports cars pretty nice since the mid 90's IMO. Compared to ford anyways. The 03-04 Cobra's are nice but even the 2002 GT won't hang with my brothers 1993 z28 6 speed.
Just think...the vette is still using a pushrod v8. Get pretty damn good gas mileage also.
I went to a Camaro meet once and camped out. Rained like crazy. It sucked. Plus we went to the track the last day. Nothing like racing with 200+lbs of **** in the car.
I drove mine 16 hours one way years ago. Even when it was stock I was miserable. I hate driving but the stang wasn't to bad. Was definitely better than driving my Z28 half that distance.
Cruise and AC is all I need. Everything else is just gravy.
According to my book at work (I sell tires) a 275 is recommended for a 9'' - 11'' wheel. So 275's should be fine.
You may not gain much from the skinnies with cheap rims. They may weight as much as a decent 8'' wide wheel.
