IS 350 RWHP realistic with ???

With a good tune, those numbers are very realistic. Personally, I'd say 375 is very realistic. I'm pulling 350+ and don't have headers, high-flow H or X, catback, TB or plenum. I'm going to see Tim in March/April for what seems to be the 'best tune' out there and a catback. Hoping for...

    What is modular?

I asked the same question, why modular engines are wider than older Ford small block motors to a Ford mechanic and wrote these comments in a thread some weeks ago. Ford mechanic stated crankshaft/cylinder bank (V-angle) was less than 90 degrees (incorrect) and modular motor angle was 90 degrees...

All these bolt ons and only 207rwhp!! HELP ME :(

If I'm not mistaken, 01 Cobras were 320 hp stock. 320 X .85 (reasonable drivetrain loss) equals 272 rwhp stock. I'm not an expert, but I question your tune, chip and specifically your timing. I'm running 16 degrees of timing with no detonation and from the professionals I've talked to...more...

    CDC Shaker (Mach 1) kit

Can't argue with CDC product or stock Mach 1 Shaker looks or functionality, but in my opinion the cost/benefit of converting non-functional to functional falls short of the mark. I considered it, but saved $1K and put it into mods that gave me more 'bang for the buck.' However, if asthetics is...

First mods on a bone stock GT

All depends on $$$. If $$$ is unrestricted or not a problem, I concur with supercharger, gears and exhaust. If $$$ is restricted, I think gears and exhaust will give you the most SOTP performance bang for the buck. Regards,

What is the difference between the Vortech Strim and SQ?

My experience is similar to DeadLurkers. At low (neighborhood, parking lot) speeds and when accelerating slowly up to aroung 45 mph, you and people within 25 meters or so of your vehicle can hear it. Once at highway speeds (60-75 mph) normal engine rmps, exhaust and stereo take over. In my...

    Dynomax Catback

UA2k1GT, Thanks for the pics, comments and opinion. I probably will go with the Ultra-Flows if I decide Dynomax. I'll also lood at MagnaFlow. If there isn't much decibel difference throughout the rpm range and the quality is similar, then I'll expand my choice and include the MagnaFlow...

    Dynomax Catback

nyuk98GT, Your response is also much appreciated. Good information that will help me with the choice. I like the way you described the noise through the engine rpm range. Thanks and regards,

    Dynomax Catback

WRXracer; Thanks for your valuable personal account of Dynomax products. Your words gave me something to think about. Much appreciated. Regards, Teen'93stang5.0; I don't consider any Dynomax product a "15 dollar discount auto parts" muffler, but you're entitled to your opinion...

    Dynomax Catback

To all who have responded thus far...Thanks Talked with Dynomax Tech Rep and Super-Turbo mufflers are not an option with off-the-shelf Dynomax Catback, only the Ultra-Flow mufflers. Perhaps I will look into that option and other straight-through muffler options, i.e. MagnaFlow/Borla/Bassani...

    Dynomax Catback

Planning to upgrade stock exhaust soon and considering Dynomax Catback w/Super Turbo mufflers. Most Stangnet reviews on this product are over 1 year old and don't address my current set-up. I'm NOT a noise chaser, but I'm looking for slightly louder volume than stock, a low mellow tone and...

Are the 4.6's and 5.4's big blocks or small blocks?

Modular motors are physically 'wider' due to the 90 degree angle formed by the right and left sides of the block in relation to the crankshaft. In other words, the 'V' of the V8 on a modular motor is a 90 degree angle, whereas the angle of the 'V' on the older Ford small blocks (260, 289, 302...
