Front wheelwell to ground clearance is 26 5/8". Is this about right?

Hmmm, those look a little bigger then I had imagined. I'll try to look up some pics of a 255/45 for comparison. It just seems crazy that a 1 inch increase, half inch all the way around, would be that noticable. Thanks

It appears to be Z rated like all the other KDWS tires. I'm getting tired of scraping the front end going across low spots where roads intersect and driveways built on curbs without an approach cut into them. There are also a good number of 5 or 6 inch speed bumps in parking lots around...

That's only an inch bigger in diameter then 255/45's. Surely it isn't that noticable of a difference is it? :shrug: 245/45 25.7" 255/45 26.1" 255/55 27.1"

Has anybody tried this combo? That size in the KDWS is approximately .8" wider and 1.4" taller. I'm looking for one slightly taller then stock, as I'm having some ground clearance issues that would be pretty well fixed by another half inch or so, and the speedo would only be off about 4 mph...

No, I never stated that. You have to have EITHER a neutral safety switch OR the clutch down switch. It is possible for somebody to start it in gear without any kind of safety switch.

That is somewhat of a stretch, but it is a valid point when you want to talk about the details. I still dislike having to clutch it on my 02, but it's not near the problem now with better oils. Yes, unless a long period of time goes by, the bearings are never "totally" dry, but you don't...

The main reason is that you are slowly eating up your thrust bearing. When you push in the clutch, you are putting up to 3000 pounds of force against the flywheel to release it, depending on what clutch you have. When you are doing this while cranking, the bearings are dry and it's grinding...

Also, I'm really easy on this thing, most of the time anyway. The motor doesn't move like the mounts are bad on it, and he should have seen the tranny mounts when he had it apart.

That's what doesn't make sense, even on really hot days, after about 10 or 15 miles it's good, and doesn't get any worse no matter how long or hard you drive it. Also, it's not near as bad if it bogs, kinda backwards to what I know as clutch chatter from other cars.

Well it's not so much a sound as it is a feel. It feels like it's gonna shake the dash off when you let out the clutch to get moving. You can feel it in the clutch pedal and the shifter. This is a VERY bad case. Sometimes you can get a little chatter and not be anything wrong. This is BAD...

02 GT, 23,000 miles. This stupid thing has had a BAD clutch chatter in the mornings off and on for about a year. If you drive a lot, > 60 miles, then it won't do it the next day, other wise it will do it the first 5 or 10 miles of the day. This morning it about threw my hand off the dang...

Does anyone know exactly what the "special tool" is that is needed? I'd like to give the guys a heads up before I take mine in so they don't have to jimmy rig something to get it to go back together. I wonder if it has something to do with 5th gear as there have been some problems with it...

Hey, does anyone know what the dash material is on an 02 GT with the deluxe interior? It's the same on the doors as what is on the dash, I can't tell if it's some kind of vinal or suede or what. I got some Meguiars leather care wipes and they said not to use them on suede? Any ideas? Thanks

You also have to turn the engines over several times as soon as they come to a stop. The exhaust valves will actaully melt and bend or even fall off if one stays open too long before cooling :doh: What I think is fascinating is when they seat the clutch after rebuilding it between rounds...

This kills me too. It makes it look like you don't know to let your foot off the gas when you push in the clutch. I hate it bad :bang: :bang: It really boggles the mind when the tach starts to fall, hits 2000, jumps up to 2200, then falls again. :shrug:
