    want brighter lights

Woulda been a lot easier (and safer) just to use a relay to wire 'em into the low-beam circuit - no blown fuses or heated wiring ... At $2.99, relays are your friend in wiring things up.

    Winter Driving?

And they look pretty good too. I have an extra set of wheels with Dunlop WinterSport M2's (245/45/HR17) for my Mach. Stock size. Oh ya - check the classified section here, you *might* see something like them posted for sale <seg> since I just got a new 4x4...

    Winter Driving?

I was looking for an $8k beater 4x4. Looked and looked and found nothing here of interest in Jersey. Ended up buying a 2004 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 4x4 Sport Plus with 4.7L V8. MSRP was 28,215, brought it home for $19,288 (after 5k in rebates). Best decision I've made in a looooong time...

    engine noise help!

It's your amp ground. You need to replace nothing. Move the amp ground to a "better" ground. Use a bolt that goes into the chassis directly. Use a dremel with wire wheel to remove all paint. Use a star washer. Your noise will go away.

New Stero system, give your opinions please!

Ok, a couple of points need to be made :D Before you ask what "we think," it would help if you let us know what your end goal is. What i mean is, if you just want to replace stock worn out stuff with something new, that situation has very different requirements than wanting a system that's...

    Buffing, Any Suggestions?

Bingo!! I have this 8" buffer that plugs into the cigarette lighter - I have had it 5 years. I tried to use it exactly twice. it's junk. I was *very* skeptical about the porter cable dual-action polisher.... I shouldn't have been. It's the BEST tool I've ever bought - I just...

    sound question

You're experiencing what is called signal cancellation - I'm betting (*very strongly*) that your sub box is against the back seat. As an experiment, slide your sub box to the extreme rear of the vehicle, firing rearward (speaker cone pointed directly at the back of the car, as close to the...

    04 Mach speaker sizes

You already know the speaker sizes - 5x7 and/or 6x8 (they're all the same these days). Tweeters? who cares what size?... You're going to have to make a mounting bracket for them to fit in the stock pods. If you want to make 6 1/2, or 6 3/4 fit, you're going to have to fabricate a...

    4channel amp question, please look!

to answer your question - no, it is *not* a 1-ohm load. It'll be between 4 and 8 ohms per channel (most stock speakers aren't 4 ohms - but higher). If you buy a 4-channel amp, the load stability is rated "per channel" - therefore you'll be fine.

    waiting on a type-X

Do yourself a favor. PREWIRE for expansion. In other words, drop in 1/0 gauge power (and ground to the amp) NOW - so you don't have to do it again when you add a second amp. If you have a late model (2001+), the 1/0 gauge will slide right through the main harness grommet, route it under the...
