Steeda Charge Motion control plate's question

I don't buy this part. Why the hell would Ford have put the powervalves in place if they did nothing for low-end torque? Car manufacturers install variable-geometry intake manifolds for a reason.

    13.2 @ 104...

Has this car been flashed? Power, torque and peak a/f are in line with the values people have been reporting from tuned cars, not the 270/290/~11.0 we've been seeing from stock cars.

    Suspension questions

With the front suspension, because it's a McPherson strut, when you lower the ride height you are lowering not just the centre of gravity but also the roll centre (the theoretical point about which the car rotates). The difference between roll centre and c of g, not the height of c of g...

    '05 GT pistons and rods.

There was a guy on here named Sendero who was insisting that the pistons on the 05 were completely unsuited to FI due to the fact that the top ring land was too weak/thin. Don't know what happened to that thread but he sure was pissing a lot of people off :)

    Bone stock goes 13.25 @ 102.85

This crap is getting ridiculous. Nobody should even bother reporting quarter-mile results anymore if they don't have proof. Photo, video, timeslip, whatever. So far I've seen like 2 or 3 threads bragging of low low 13's at low to mid 100's, with absolutely f&*k-all to back them up.

    05 Stangs in Canada??

Campbell Ford in Ottawa has a whack of GT's. I drove one today :D CLICK HERE for the summary

No 18 inch wheel eveyone e-mail ford and scream

I was just going to make this point but you beat me to it :D The extra rotational inertia will make a difference, just not the entire difference. Exactly how much is a math issue and I'm way too tired and lazy to do the calculations.

    GFG Wheels Project 05

Agree 140% (including that 20" is a bit much). 18's or even forged 19's will be absolutely sick on this car. It just oozes muscle.

    best 05 conv pics yet

Mmmmmm........these are going to look tasty once people start tricking them out and putting 18+ inch rims on them.

    BBK SSI intake

No. Horsepower is a function of torque, not its inverse. If you're trying to say there's sometimes a tradeoff when going for higher peak power, that you will lose torque, then that's true. HP = (torque * RPM)/5252 For more exciting reading go here...

Can't find anywhere to buy cams for '98 cobra DOHC?!?

I dunno, the Stage III (street/strip) looks pretty nice.....228/232 @ 0.050" :D It says "rough idle". The Stg II ('hot street') might be better on a daily.......it's actually 210/216 @ 0.050" at the valve, not 194/200 as I indicated above. FWIW the guy who installed the Stg II's in the...

Can't find anywhere to buy cams for '98 cobra DOHC?!?

Not much P to V clearance on the Cobras huh? Same problem with VW 16v's.....for us .450" is big stuff :bang:

Can't find anywhere to buy cams for '98 cobra DOHC?!?

Why are 4v all-motor Mustangs so sensitive to duration? I started reading the link off the StangNet homepage to the "Crower Stage II cam install", and when I read the specs I was like WTF? 195/200 deg @ 0.050" or something......my stock Volkswagen 16v (4 cylinder, 4v per cyl) motor has cams like...

    Cervini Eleanor

Doesn't anybody prefer the round turn signals found in the final S197 concept to those awkward little orange slits?

    Cervini Eleanor

Looks to me like the only dummy scoops in that picture are behind the door windows. The lower ones in the front airdam and the ones in front of the rear wheels COULD conceivably be functional (and very useful) brake-cooling ducts.

    Camless Engine

That company has pretty much been shown to be a fraud.......I think one of the guys on StangNet tried to meet up with the owner and kept getting the runaround. Plus the SEC had him under investigation for securities fraud. Not too encouraging....

    2005/'06 SVT Cobra???

Funny that anyone could be granted a patent for a 3-valve head. Honda has been doing this since AT LEAST the mid-eighties if not earlier (crappy little Civics had 12-valve fours)
