    Question in drive shaft

Are you certain that it is not lowered? (it sounds as if this car is new to you) This is a common problem when the car is lowered, and it also is common with the FRPP aluminum driveshaft which has a larger diameter. IIRC, upper control arm bushings are also a suspect, when they wear out, they...

    5spd questions...please help

If you are using the 3550 in a SN-95 you need the fox bellhousing. There are not different 3550's for fox or SN-95 - you have to use the fox length bell. I am uncertain if your driveshaft is the same length as a manual, but I believe it is. If so, then you'll need to use a spacer (or lenghten...

    5spd questions...please help

IIRC, with the 3550, you will need to lengthen the driveshaft - most people do this with a driveshaft spacer that goes inbetween the DS and rear pinion flange. It is about 5/8" thick. I think that you may also have to mod the crossmember, and use the fox fork. Rick

    Headlights WON'T listen

Have you checked your headlight switch? I'd bet that you ruined it or the connector that plugs into it when you wired it up like this. When you have the lights on low, you are pulling all the current for both the lows and the highs through the switch. (In just normal use) it is very common...

    Installing clutch, any tips????

I believe that they are metric. I do this, except that I use the bottom 2... never tried the top 2, perhaps it works better. I always (the 2 times I put it in) need a helper to get the trans in. It will never go all the way in, it gets hung up at the bellhousing. A helper is...

lloking for wiring gurus to help find short in factory wiring!!!!

It's on this black plastic mount on the drivers side under the trunk side panel. The keyless entry module is on the back of the mount. There should be 2 connectors on it. They connect into the 'bottom' of it (as it's mounted). Rick

More Problems With my New Stang...

This was a guess - I keyed in on the part that it happens when cornering. Since you said that, I assumed that you meant ONLY when cornering. The diff has to slip when cornering, and perhaps that is part or all of your problem. You should consider changing the clutch packs, they are only...

    Installing clutch, any tips????

Put thread sealant on your flywheel bolts. Perhaps replace your pilot bearing. Perhaps replace your throwout bearing. Perhaps replace your throwout bearing retainer. --------------------- Torque specs: flywheel housing-to-block = 38-55 lb-ft flywheel bolts = 75-85 lb-ft (with sealant)...

More Problems With my New Stang...

I'd guess that this is the posi clutch packs or diff. Detonation or pre-ignition. Very common on our cars. You should run a higher octane, clean your maf, ensure sensors are working correctly, and/or retard your spark. Don't continue to run your engine like this! Rick

lloking for wiring gurus to help find short in factory wiring!!!!

I'd try removing the factory alarm and see what happens... The factory alarm turns those things on (normally only at the right times), and perhaps the noise is a relay... Rick

Has anyone had this Driveshaft problem??

I'm pretty sure that the FRPP alum DS that I had had a wrap around weight like yours (but actually attached). Rick

    Only tweeters are working..?

The amp under the radio is just for the 4 tweeters. There are 2 amps under the rear mach enclosure that drive the 5x7's. You must be feeding only the front amp (somehow). Check out this webpage- http://www.flemworld.com/Mach460/Mach.html Rick

    talked to my engine builder

Technically, no - uses the same heads. The only difference between a 302 and 347 is the stroke length. IOW the piston goes down the cylinder farther. The flow of 302 heads might not be enough for a 347, but that is a different consideration. I believe that you are thinking of a 351 and the...

May I have a bad lifter?

Lugging with high load - I'd guess detonation or pre-ignition. Try retarding the spark a lot and see what happens. Rick

Why does it sound like detonation when I start my car in the morning?

I agree with Don. Perhaps if the culprit is bled down (drained) lifters, you may have a cheap oil filter that has a malfunctioning, poorly engineered, or cheap anti-drainback valve (Fram is one of the worst). Rick

    Smog removal help

I suppose it could be.... really doubt it. If you are looking at those heads and there are not holes, well then... FWIW, IIRC, the threads in the holes in our heads are 5/8-11. I used bolts to plug mine before (which makes them easy to remove). Rick
