    I went through nearly the exact same thing on my 89....did the oversized bolt but I think it was on the timing cover only as I did the water pump and chain at the same time. Had the help of a machinist buddy who came over and helped. You gave me bad flashbalcks! :eek:

    Yeah, what sucks here in Kommiefornia, is the newer hi-flow cats are not allowed even though they blow cleaner. It's strictly a money-making scheme out here. In reality, the days of smog checks should be over as very few have heavy polluters. Most people daily drive pretty clean cars now...

    Alternator Drawing From Battery

    Had my battery go dead just sitting in the garage....recharged battery then go dead again. Someone told me it's a failure mode of a bad alternator. Installed new alternator....fixed!

    Looks like your red needles went white? Is that just the photo? The top of my speedo is pretty dark with the stock lights. Was wondering if a bulb is out...can't remember if one is located just above the mileage counter....anyone know?

    My 86 Capri has the 10 holes.....love the look.....my 89 GT has the ponies....love 'em! So I got both and love both! :) Maybe ya need to buy another Capri or Mustang and have both, too! I know, I'm no help!

    Google for how to set the choke and give that a try first.....I prefer Holleys and never really messed with an Edelbrock but they all work similarly....

    The baffle in your gas tank has broken off. Symptom is stalling in a turn. Drop the tank, pull out the pump and take a broom handle. See if you can move the baffle box around. If so, buy a new gas tank. Happened to both my 5.0Ls.

    Hurst Billet Plus Shifter with a Mach I/Bullitt Knob?

    OK...found my old stock shifter. The Hurst shifter handle has a larger diameter all the way to the threads while the stock one is thinner far enough below the threads to clear the Bullitt knob, then gets thicker. Now that I know the threads are good, maybe I can figure something out.
