So I want to put one prong of my meter on to the heater ground coming from the disconnected o2 sensor, and the other prong on where the little ring terminal actually grounds? And there should be voltage going through that???? :shrug:

I've heard of people putting the T-stat in backwards, but even if you did that, the fact that it was stuck open should keep it from being a problem. Try removing the T-stat altogether and see what happens.

Every single diagram I've seen including my Haynes manual shows completely different wire colors. The autozone diagram that jrichker supplied (thanks) said Red with black and the other being Grey with light Blue. I'm going to look for those. I'll tell you how it goes.
