    07 Cobra information, specs/prices/due date

Reading the post, I thought: weight Really, they would need to use a direct spec GT engine ($$$!!) to keep the weight down. The thing's going to be heavy if it has a blower on it, which will make it handle like the SN95s. Also, if SVT is taking a more "upscale" approach, then they need the...

What fuel are you running 87 89 91

If I recall, I thought the 05 has knock sensors in it (finally!). So that with the better electronics will compensate and still optimize performance (and could lower performance from a perspective). Any cleansers, etc.. is not desired--they may clean the carbon as advertised, but usually clog...

    weight issues?

"These fastest road race cars have a F/R weight balance on the order of 45 / 55% F/R." Airflow management does a lot for them too (i.e. lot's of down force in the front and adjustable) compared to the form follows before! function of the 350Z or Stang for that matter. Having more rear bias...

    weight issues?

Interesting. Just for kicks here's info from an old 1995 SVT Cobra brochure: HP: 245 @ 4800 RPM (underrated) TQ: 285 @ 4000 RPM (underrated) Weight: 3354 lbs Length: 181.5 in Height: 53.4 in ('04 cobra is 52.5!) Price: $forgot ! What sucked was the wheelbase at 101.3 in., so the weight...

Some clarification on MT's 05 GT track test

The 05 is balanced better for traction, so the closer times to a cobra would not be a suprise. Then again, a simple change in OEM tires (like to Pilot PS2's, etc..) will give the cobra a huge advantage. The 05 is just coming out of the factory ahead of the game, which <05's folks need to modify...

    Livernois Dynoes '05 Mustang GT

Anyone noticed the weight on the dyno sheet? Is that an estimated entered value of is that the real weight? Cause that will effect the HP/TQ calculations. Anyhow, that pretty hefty at 3550lbs for a GT coupe (unless it's fully loaded w/leather, shaker, etc...)

    Another Good Review!

Good article, only question I had was Was he meaning normal GT-type cars in the $30's or a GT (i.e. a GT in the mid-30's!)?

Newer 05 pics and unofficial Cobra info

-- Yes it is much more boxier than I thought, a bit too "brick" shaped. -- Front looks bigger than the butt (hmmm, designed in cali?)--lots of space for a root blower? -- Slap on some saleen/roush body parts on your SN95's and it will look just as good -- Yep the '05 direct-front-view looks...

Blew a HG on the dyno...

How much boost are you running? Definitely sounds like you're blowing boost into the cooling system. That's why the plugs look good, no leakage into the cylinders or steaming--either the head is lifting from boost or you got warpage somewhere. If this is the 2nd HG blown, I say it's the...

Any1 catch the AW pic yesterday (Cobra Spotted)? http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?port_code=autoweek&cat_code=carnews&loc_code=index&content_code=08716348 Looks hacked, and plain, but who knows...

Used Mr. Clean AutoDry---And the Verdict is!!!!

I don't know but after 3 washes with the water blade, my Zymol wax has held up pretty well. Still, no drying [minimum drying that is] and 10minutes sounds like a good investment. Commerical? Yes.... Sold? Yes....

need opinions on my 331 combo please!!!

I have a similar setup too, BUT had comp custom grind me a "274 equivalent" for 1.7 rockers (and boost friendly ;) )... Since you're at 10:1 C/R (I'm at 8.5:1 too), it will be pretty responsive off idle--I had to bump timing (15^ base) due to low CR and it's still very stout compared to a 302...

    Wingless? Oh, HELL yes!!!

Been wingless (really spoiler-less) for a few years already. Spoiler sitting in the closet. Anyway my $0.02: IT DOES work with larger than stock wheels and lowered. 16"-ers and stock height doesn't cut it IMO. I think the borla tips help too. Also, I've found the S281 wing looks...

Ford GT dyno numbers are in !

Looks like GT engineers *did* take notes on the Koenigsegg CC8S--heck they got that kind of power/reliability out of the 4.6 cobra motor! I wonder if they were running OEM-production rated boost levels or 'slappin' on a smaller pulley ;)

    springfield motorsports

For basic work, yes. Being objective, I've been there 4 times, and don't know if I'll go anymore. Was sold the wrong H-pipe--asked/ordered an 'X', got an 'H', was told it was an 'X', paid an 'X' price, I found out a month later, mail order sold the H 150$ less! (My bad I guess?) They did my...

Something to considor while waiting for 05

Considering the owner likely paid 750K at least :) They should shoot the original owner--I mean if you gonna wreck a enzo--do it on the track at least!!! --Heck it's damaged good, I would instead replace the panels w/custom fiberglass pieces, you'll save about 60K...

    Another MT ROAD TEST article?

EDITED: DELETED... ****** GD it! Can someone tell MotorTrend to change their 05 stang article from "Road Test: 2005 Mustang" To "PREVIEW: 2005 Mustang". There's no road test!!? i.e. driving stats or track numbers! sheesh, the deception....(thought it was a different article, but...

    Trival manual tranny question?

They should be using the same '94 SN95 quad. It's ratchet/self adjusting... quoting myself...j/k a bit :D --BUT heck if it's gonna be a smooth/light pressure pedal + with the better placement of the shifter location + slapping a [future] aftmkt short throw unit on there....it's gonna be pretty...

    Trival manual tranny question?

Then being hydro, it's gonna be the easiest-to-drive stang ever :) . I was thinking that even with the bad height steering wheel, poor clutch/brake pedal position, bad seats, and truck positioned-stick shifter--ONLY if the SN95's had a low pressure clutch pedal, life would be completely...

    Trival manual tranny question?

Anyone know if the '05s will have: el-cheapo, heavy pressure cable clutch *or* light pressure, non-adjustable hydraulic clutch?
