    Popping front end?

Inner tie rods are worn. They can be replaced but it's easier and maybe even cheaper to get a new rack.

    Diagnose this problem..PLEASE!

Okay folks, I’ve already posted the problem I’m having with my ’93 GT. As I said before, the car ran great until just a few weeks ago. I’m not driving it until I get this resolved. If ya’ll can help me, I’d appreciate it. :hail2: The issue seems to be intermittent. Sometimes it runs...

    Electrical Problem HELP!

Okay, I have something to add to my original post. Jrichker, I haven't had time to pull the codes. I'll try to get that done tonight and report back. I was able to take the car out on the road last night for a short drive and the car began acting as I described. Eventually it died on me. I...

    Electrical Problem HELP!

Hi folks, I'm experiencing an electrical problem in my '93 GT. It happens at start-up and seems fine after I finally get the car started and it warms up a bit. What happens is that when I turn the key to crank, the tach jumps around, starter engages and turns the engine over, but the engine...

    Weird Turn Signal Problem

I'd vote for the ignition switch as well. I had the EXACT same problem. No signals and no fan blower. It was intermittent. An inspection of my ignition switch showed that it was separating. It was a pretty easy fix. The bolts that hold it on take a special wrench, or you might be able to...

popping and backfiring out of exhaust

I had a similar situation and it turned out to be a rotten/broken vacuum hose on the underside of my upper intake. You may have to pull the upper to get to it. Poke around some and see if you see hear or feel anything. Dave

    Brake Upgrade

The green pads are made by EBC. They're called EBC Green stuff pads. Hawks are not green, they're black. Both Hawk and EBC are excellent pads. Sorry to nitpick here.:nice: Dave

    Fuel Filter

Agreed, HISSIN. Maybe Paul was thinking about the sock on the in-tank fuel pump, not the actual fuel filter which is outside of the tank and between the tank and the rear axle.

    Solution for clogged heater core?

I had the same problem. I took both hoses loose and put the water hose to them both one at a time to flush and back flush the core. Gunk came out. Now I've got good heat. Don't risk using an air compressor until you try the water hose. You might bust something and of all things to bust, the...

    rims

Maybe. Need more info. What type of wheels? Are they mustang wheels or some other style? What kind of 5 lug conversion are you doing? Lincoln rotors? sn95 spindles?

so.. anyone use Acetone in their gas tank?

I bought a fifth of Jagermeister a few months back. It came with two shot glasses. I fill both glasses to the top. One with Jager, one with Acetone. One for the car, one for me! I just have to be careful to remember which one is for who.

so.. anyone use Acetone in their gas tank?

Did it months ago. Saw big MPG gains until my motor blew. Just kidding! Actually, I got 2-3 more MPG with the acetone. I used up what I had and haven't been back to Home Depot. I'm a believer though!

Who has a polishing buff wheel?

Yes. They are about $5. ea. including arbors at Lowes or Home Depot. You'll need an air compressor and a die grinder to spin the wheels. You'll also need various grades of compound, sand paper, a dust mask, safety glasses and lot of time and patience. It's a tiresome, tedious, filthy job...

Overheating, Leaking lots of coolant, smoking

Yup. You let it overheat for whatever reason (probably that cracked plastic thing you're talking about) and it blew a head gasket. That's where I'm putting my money. Take that plastic thing totally out and get two new heater hoses. In fact, why don't you just replace all of your hoses, your...

smoke coming out of dash vents

The steam will have a sweet smell to it if it's antifreeze. Hold a cool object over the vent until the smoke begins to condense on it. Run your finger over the condensationa and give it a taste. Sweet taste?...Anti freeze. Don't worry, one drop won't hurt ya'. I suspect it's the heater...

    POR 15 Advice

POR-15 is supposed to be Painted Over Rust, hence the POR name. It can be painted over bare metal as well. Bare metal needs to be prepped with POR's Metal Ready etcher before coating with POR-15. If you're doing a rotisserie rebuild, sandblasting the whole under side, it would be a great...

    Squealing AC compressor

Belt's fine. About a month old. I didn't check the tolerances on the compressor, but the noise changes as the compressor clutch kicks on and off. It works just fine though. It may be on it's last leg. I wonder if squirting a little graphite under the clutch pulley would help/hurt it? Any...

    Squealing AC compressor

Is there a way to lubricate this thing? It works fine, but I guess the bearings are just old and it squeals a little when the engine's cold. Once things warm up a little, it quietens down. I'm afraid to just shoot WD40 or somthing like that in there because I'm afraid it will only trap dirt...
