Mach 1 What people paying for a new '04 Mach1?

"Howl" may not be the most accurate description - it's more like a wind-noise when I accelerate hard (around 5k RPMs) and upshift from 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th. I'm sorry, WOT = ???

Mach 1 What people paying for a new '04 Mach1?

That makes two of us, man. After 1244 miles, I can tell that mine is beginning to loosen-up and run even FASTER - as if it really needed to...I mean, holy cripes, this thing is stronger-than-death... :D My favorite sound from the motor is when air gets forced into the hood scoop - and the...

Mach 1 Mach1 Get together in Mooresville, NC Hooters on March 27,2004

OK! I don't get off work until 7:00pm, though. How long will y'all be hangin'-out up there?

Mach 1 Mach1 Get together in Mooresville, NC Hooters on March 27,2004

I work just about every Saturday til 6pm - so, I'll be there with y'all in-spirit, if not in-Mach?

Mach 1 Your first test drive in a Mach1

The only recurring issue I regularly hear from K&N users is that the light coating of oil in the filter element sometimes 'fouls' the MAP - resulting in rough starts and a need to clean off the sensor. Other than that, they swear by 'em - although, practically-speaking, how much difference in...

Mach 1 What people paying for a new '04 Mach1?

Hey Burly! From one Oxford White Mach 1 owner to another - congratulations, bro! It's like I tell my friends - the only thing the Mach 1 has in-common with the '02 GT (I traded) is the word, "Mustang" on the rear bumper skirt. That's about it. The differences in power...

Mach 1 Your first test drive in a Mach1

Congratulations on your new Mach! For some reason, I just knew you wouldn't wait until you paid-off your '00 GT!!! :D

Mach 1 Your first test drive in a Mach1

According to the March issue of MMFF: "to reiterate for the final-time, This is absolutely, positively NOT the '96-98 Cobra motor; nor is it a detuned '99-01 Cobra engine." The differences are: 1) block (aluminum vs. cast iron) 2) heads 3) cams I thought this was one of the best...

    Mach 1 Buyer's Remorse

Bee, I'm inclined to agree with you! Some of my Ford's have been 'quirky' at times. My company-vehicle is a '99 Ranger 4x4 with right at 75k miles on it and every now and then, it'll do some weird things...like die-out when I cut the wheels all the way to the right and accelerate? :shrug...

Mach 1 What people paying for a new '04 Mach1?

Hmmm...$9800 against invoice-minus-rebate may be impossible for them to do? Perhaps if it had 35-40k miles MAYBE but doubtful with 80k. I'm just trying to be honest with you. :flag: My guess is they'll start by low-balling your GT around $7k...and let you get ready to get-up and walk-out...

Mach 1 What people paying for a new '04 Mach1?

That's fair. At $24,750 they're making a couple hundred bucks and 'dealer holdback' (approx 2% of MSRP). If you're trading, though, just remember - once they gut the price of the Mach to invoice-minus-rebate, they're gonna try to get you to take "wholesale", aka "actual cash value", for your...

Mach 1 What people paying for a new '04 Mach1?

There's about $3k mark-up and (right now) a $3k rebate, which means you should be able to get one for about $6k off-sticker.

    Mach 1 Buyer's Remorse

Yes, I bought the latest MMFF yesterday with the featured article comparing the Cobra, Mach, and GT - really good stuff! It's too bad they couldn't have got a Cobra coupe - versus a banana yellow convertible - for the review but it was still interesting to read how the three stacked-up against...

    Mach 1 Buyer's Remorse

I really appreciate everyone's patience and understanding in this matter. The good news is that I'm enjoying the new Mach a lot more now (and missing my '02 GT a little bit less) than I was the other day, when I first came on here ranting. Thanks again.

    Mach 1 Buyer's Remorse

This is my 3rd Mustang ('02 GT, '88 GT) and the 5th Ford I've owned in the last 20 years (Ranger 4X4, Explorer). Bottom-line: I bought the Mach 1 to drive - not to have factory defects serviced. Anger issues? You betcha.

    Mach 1 Buyer's Remorse

No major problems with my '04...yet but, I'm just waiting. Based on all the problems reported in this forum and others, though, holy cripes, I'm having simultaneous attacks of paranoia and 'buyers remorse' this morning... This is ridiculous! Shaker rattles, grinding gears, moans from the...
