    Did Cobra actually offer this?

It's not going to fit a 351W without custom spacers.

    Paint For Gauge Pointers?

Any good hobby shop will have it- Testor's Fluorescent Red It is a perfect match. I applied it to my 66 back in 1982, and it still looks like the day I painted it.

Guys over 6 ft tall. Headliner and seat options?

Mustangs To Fear is coming out with a one piece headliner for the 65-66 cars. They claim it will give you an extra 2 inches of headroom. But I agree with blown65, the seat platform mod is the way to go. I'm 6'4" and lowered the platform, along with changing from a tinted windshield with the blue...

    Brake Line Flaring

Classic Tube in NY did mine. I sent them regular brake lines that I bent to shape. They sent me back stainless lines bent, flared and ready to install. Cost was just under 300.

    new wheel arches

Do yourself a favor and replace the entire quarter panel. It will result in a better job, and less work in the end. Plus when you go to sell the car, you won't have to lower your price because you have patch panels with gallons of bondo on your 1/4 panels. RickD.

Need help with finding correct headers

I also used the FPA long tube headers on a 408 in my 65 FB with Rod and Custom front suspension. The fit was great, but I could not use the stock clutch linkage, I switched to a hydraulic clutch, and a Quicktime bellhousing. A lakewood will work, but you would need to trim it on both sides, and...

Mustang II Front End in 1967 Swap

Years ago, back in the late 70's early 80's, guys would put Mustang II front ends in early mustangs, but they were mostly for drag racing to get in larger engines like the 460. Now, when you talk Mustang II front conversions, you mean kits from companies like Rod and Custom, Heidt's and TCI...

    Outer wheel well flange?

The outer wheelhouse and quarter panel flanges are spot welded together. there should be ten or more spotwelds. This is what helps give the unibody strength. "massage" the parts so they fit tight together then weld. This often takes time with repo parts.

VERY UNHAPPY with fender aprons shipped from National Parts Depot (http://www.npdlink

They are called knockout punches. Commonly used by electricians. You could probably rent them from a tool rental place. Graingers sells them, but you probably can find them cheaper, or if you know an electrician, just borrow them. Good luck, Rick D.

VERY UNHAPPY with fender aprons shipped from National Parts Depot (http://www.npdlink

It is normal. Mustang fender fitment varies so much, If they pre punched the holes, they would not line up for all cars. For the square holes, I use a tool I bought at a plumbing supply house. After drilling a pilot hole, it bolts together and cuts a square hole. I have one for a square, and one...

    Restomod Radios, Gauges, etc...

They make a lot of gauges for boats. They are the maker of many Ford Tachs, including the Cobra tach used in the early Shelbys.

    Restoring a Rusted Roof

I went through this about a year ago on my 65 fastback. After trying navel jellys, metal ready, and a couple other rust removers, I ended up using a product called Rust be Gone. It was the only thing that got the rust out of the small pitted areas on the roof. The others just turned the rust in...

    Leaf Spring Relocation Question

Thanks for all the great pics, they really help a lot. One more question, is 275/40/17 (or 15) the widest tire most people run? Seems like it doesn't matter if the wheels are 8 inch, 9, 9 1/2 or 10, do most people stop at the 275 size?

    Leaf Spring Relocation Question

Are you guys running nine inch wheels? and what backspace? My car, like dodgestang, has a 1 inch difference in space from wheelweel to wheelweel. With stock factory 1/4 panels with rolled lips, I can get barely 255's in there, that is on a 8 inch wheel with 4 3/4 backspace. In fact, it rubs on...

    Leaf Spring Relocation Question

Thanks for all the replys. iskwezm, I have min tubbed the car, so I am thinking either relocate the springs, or go to a 4 link. dodgestang, I remember reading where you had problems fitting 275's, so I wasn't going to try it without making some room for them. I have seen several 65-66 cars...

    Leaf Spring Relocation Question

On a 66 Mustang, if the leaf springs are relocated to the inside of the frame, (to make room for larger tires) how much does it hurt the handling on a street car? I was at Carlisle last week and saw that Crites makes a kit for the Mustang. Thanks, Rick
