Zookeeper, your car starts right up and idles fine within 1 minute or so of feathering the throttle or keeping the throttle at about 1500rpms? I adjusted my carb to the highest vacuum reading (15-16 inches) in drive with the e brake on, then a 1/4 turn out more.

Wow. I dont know how that is possible, but good for you. Mine dies if i dont feather the throttle for at least 2 minutes. What carb are you running?

Yes, I hit the throttle one time then start the car. No luck, it just cranks. Maybe something is faulty with the choke system.

There is just something not working with the choke. I adjust it, starts up nice, then the next morning it doesn't want to start. I tried messing with the choke cap but no luck.

I hate electric chokes....or maybe i just dont really have mine hooked up properly. For those that dont have a choke hooked up, does your cars start up right away? Mines starts up but doesn't want to idle unless i feather the throttle for about 3 minutes. I live in San Francisco so i dont think...

I would get some heads to match your performance cam and definitely a complete 2.5" exhaust system.

Are those synthetic or conventional oils?

I have about 2000 miles on the engine since the rebuild. The person who built the engine told me to use straight 30 weight oil with a zinc additive. I hear good things about delvac mobile 1300 15w-40 oil. I'm just not sure about using straight 30 weight. Your thoughts?

That's good to hear! I have about 2000 miles since my rebuild( stock with mild cam). Do know know what the zinc numbers are for redline?

I hear horror stories of new oils with not enough zinc for flat tappet cams. My engine is broken in already, so i need to know what oil to use regularly to protect my engine.

Check your Vin#'s. Looks like a 68 with a 67 grill. 67's didn't have side marker lights on the Quarter panels.

No complaints so far! 68 Coupe, insured for $20,000. $191 a year.

I just don't know why it's only happening on one side. I was thinking maybe my shock was leaking or something. That side of the suspension has a lot of travel 2.5 ".....That was the measurement from the center of the wheel well to the deepest scratch on the sidewall of the tire.

I have 15 x 8 rims in the back with a 4.5 backspacing. Only one (passenger) side is cutting the hell out of my tire. The tire is a 245/60/15 BFG. The lip of the wheel well has a small dent right in the middle that i did years ago that is not really noticeable. Can i roll the lip with out...

That's good everything clears with the 1" drop. Mine is stock height (I think) for now. The only thing i can find are either BFG's or Cooper Cobras.

You running 15 x 7 's or 15 x 8's? What year is your stang?
