    65 Mustang Wiring Harness Recommendations

I installed the kit you linked to a couple years ago an I am very pleased. The most difficult things were mounting the panel, mounting the turn signal relays, and routing the engine harness around the backside of the gauges and cowl vent. Print out a couple copies of the wiring diagram and one...

yep, that's what I have in my car now. Just double check trans and pinion angles or you may notice vibrations at higher speeds.

Backside of the apron? Same bolt hole but inside the fender? Is this forward of the front splash shield?

Panhard bar Options with Leaf Springs?

If you are going the Maier route save yourself a headache and don't buy the $230 one. Pony up and buy the adjustable one. I did and found out it was a mistake when I went to install it.

    65 Stang With Versailles Brakes

Why not build a couple braided lines? It is very easy. The Versailles rear has banjo style fittings. Nothing unusual except the thread on the bolt is something odd like 7/16-24. For parts use sumit or try classic tube. They make sst braided lines at many different lengths. Classic Tube -...

    Where to get stripes?

Have any of you purchased vinyl stripes? From where? I just got a gt-350 hood and need to paint it. I don't like the current metallic green stripes and want to get a price to compare to painting them on. I would like to get a metallic blue or silver. Maybe the new shelby stripes?

    What happened to my AOD?

I've wanted to swap out my AOD for a while. I've never liked autos and this one was no exception. When it "broke" this summer it was the perfect time to swap in a t5. I want to have it fixed so I can sell it and want to know what went on inside. I took off hard from a complete stop. It drove...

    calling Minnesota guys/gals

Anyone heard any news on King Cobra? I went there a few weeks back and they were closed during scheduled buisiness hours. My step-dad went there this past weekend and it looked like the stuff inside was tagged like they were going to have an auction. He also said their phone was disconnected.

    driveshaft dimensions

I recently swapped out an aod for a t-5 in a 65 fastback. When I install the driveshaft I had made to fit the aod with the new tranny I have 1.375" of telescoping travel between the tailshaft and yoke. Is this enough? This dimension was taken at ride height. I'm wondering how much movement there...

    synthetic oil in sbf

Synthetic is a much better product than conventional oil. I would agree that you may want to think twice about using it on a high milage car if you started with conventional. I completely disagree with the comment that it is more expensive. Quite the opposite. Lets say we both own the same...

Amazing what a little paint can do!

Damn nice start. PS You wouldn't know where to get another on of those cuda banners would you?

    Expanding Foam

DO NOT use any of the stuff for home insulation in your cars. The kid that owned my mom's cuda did this in place of seam sealer. EVERY surface that this foam was on was rusted. Not thru the panels but it was rusty. This is an open cell foam that traps and retains moisture. I'm sure that there...

    Recommendations for '65 steering wheel

Your issue is different than mine then. In your 2nd pic you can see the two horn contacts on the right. On mine, the one with the yellow wire doesn't have any insulation on the connector. When the wheel is on those two leads get pushed down thru a cutout in the barrel. I'm pretty sure it is...

    Recommendations for '65 steering wheel

Tim65GT, was this grinding noise caused by the spring loaded horn contacts shorting out? I have this problem with my Shelby wheel and haven't found a way around it yet.

    Anodized Aluminum Moldings

Maybe I've just been lucky with mine or the P.O. replaced everything. It has been my experience that bright dipping only cleans the part and does very little to protect the surface. While anodizing to whatever spec gives the corrosion and abrasion resistance. As for polishing, if you're going to...

    Anodized Aluminum Moldings

I don't think you'll be happy with bright dipping long term. I work for a company that uses bright dipping, soft annodizing, hard annodizing, and HA with Teflon. Hard annodizing hold up to chemicals and wear & tear a LOT better than bright dipping. just my $.02

AOD Cooler lines in 66 Mustang

I picked up a set from inline tube. I have not put them on yet. It was actually for a 90 mustang so the fittings at the radiator may not line up.
