What was the first year of body stile before the fox body?? got money on this one!!!!

Yes, because we ALL know TITLES are fool proof. Seeing as my 85 GT was titled as an LX in IL, and in AZ it's an "MLG." Titles are not fool-proof. They're about as reliable as CarFax for determining details of a car. Ford did not put much more than engine codes and consecutive unit numbers...

What was the first year of body stile before the fox body?? got money on this one!!!!

Well, I hate to break it to some of you, but yes, Ford did officially dub it the 85 1/2 SVO. Here's some proof: I have both printings of the 85 Mustang brochure. Early 85 brochure, printing date 8/84 has this at the beginning of the information on the 85 SVO...

What's needed for 85GT to 93GT front end?

Way to ruin a car! Nothing like making it look less unique to really stand out from the rest of the crowd! Sigh.

full aftermarket Fox body instrument clusters ?

Anyone who sells Painless Wiring stuff should be able to get them. Summit, Jeg's, local speed shops. The place selling the MC Machine dash plates, http://mentaladdictionmotorsports.com (I think that's the right URL...it's flippin' LONG! ) deals in Painless stuff, too. I'll try to dig up the...

full aftermarket Fox body instrument clusters ?

Since it's aluminum, you'd probably want to go with anodizing. I had mine (different style) done in black and grey to match the factory look. I think that Mental Addiction (the place selling them) has them already available in black as well as bare, not sure though. Might want to call them...

    5.0 with 7.5

Ford switched to an 8.8 behind the V8 cars in 1986 because there were so many problems with 7.5s blowing up behind stock motors. Mine blew and locked up on me when my motor was still very much stock. An 8.8 is cheap insurance. Cruise the junkyards, classifieds, swap meets, etc. It'll be...

    79-86 gauges

You can order whatever tach you want, Auto Meter has 8k tachs. My car has only been to 6800. With this motor, that's probably as far as I'll let it go. In the future *shrug* only time and money will tell.

    Parting out a car?

Just put it up for sale as-is on TurboFord.org and save yourself the headache of parting out. Besides, it's not fair to the car and the rapidly dwindling supply of TCs (heck, and just about any other factory 2.3T car made) to part it out due to an oil pump.

    79-86 gauges

I'll try and dig up the pics. Are you one of the multiple Ohio Mercury Rising guys? Amazing how many Capris there are per capita in Ohio! Anyway, I also had a little bit of custom work done to mine with a little switch plate I plan to use eventually. If I can't find the pics, I'll try...

Are fenders different between 87-90 GT and 91-93 GT??????

And to add to that, the 91-93 fenders need different fender extensions. Due to the larger wheel opening, the fender extensions were trimmed accordingly.

cam help with an 85 motor

If the car was originally a 5 speed car, you're in the clear all 5 speed 85 5.0s were carbed and roller motor cars. If it was an AOD/CFI car, you're likely to have an issue. The AOD cars were lower horsepower, non-roller motor cars. There are rumors floating about that there were some AOD/CFI...

    Indy-Mustang Engine Shop

It's always worth it to pay a bit more if you know the shop you're dealing with is reputable. I was never rich enough to do things the cheap way and then keep replacing parts :) Searching internet message boards is a valuable resource for things like this. Glad you found out about them...

So how many 2.3Turbos do we have in here?

Good luck. Took me a couple years to find one in one piece, and even then it'd been screwed with. Bit of a mess, but I'm happy to have it and know it's safe in my garage. One of 1321 in 1984. 83 saw only 381 produced. The EFI Turbo RS is a neat but rare find. Currently at our place...

bought a centerforce clutch setup told its junk.anyone using?

I've had mine (Dual Friction) for 2 years and about 20000 miles on it. I'm only making ~300 at the wheels, and have been to the track only a handful of times, but it's not failed me yet. Is this tranny shop trying to sell you a clutch?
