    1965 mustang custom rear suspension

Custom 4 link measurements I have fabbed many 4 link and ladder bar suspensions (my 66 has a custom ladder bar under bags with a panhard bar). IMHO there are 2 schools of thought, if you already have the driveshaft you are planning to use, set the rear end on a pair of jack stands, with a jack...

    OMG HEEEELLLPPPP!!!

Also check I know it sounds simple, now, but there is a post here from me with lots of help from everyone that describes the same problems I was having. Beat my head on a wall checking and re-checking everything in the world; except the rotation of the distrub rotor. Had the plug wires going in...

    EFI engine swap

sbf engines Dimensionally yes, there are some differences (performance wise) in the heads, stock cams, ect. but, someone chime in if I'm wrong, but most 260, and all 289 / 302 / 5.0 parts are interchangeable. But, with that said, it's important to match things up correctly, i.e. 5.0 roller cam...

Totally lost on fresh engine start up

Progress Update (warning long winded) :bang: I haven't gotten much time to work on it (just to hot). But I did, using a dial indicator replacing #1 plug, find TDC. Then, using the timing pointer made on the early model timing cover, filed a small groove into the balancer to display TDC. I took...

Totally lost on fresh engine start up

More Info  Going to go back from ground 0 tomorrow. One thing I picked up on from the first reply. Since this has a hyd roller cam, I was under the impression that no valve adjustments where needed. I'm having some problems with the timing marks. I am running the late (85 model) balancer...

Totally lost on fresh engine start up

Ok, time to start the motor for the first time. It's a 5.0 out of a 1985 Grand Marq. It was FI to start with. I have totally went through the engine, AFR heads, stroked to 347. Now for the important stuff: Trick Flow Street heat cam, (roller hyd) stock distrubitor with a MSD 6AL connected to it...

Junkyard rack and pinion basic question

OK, after some looking and much modifiting, I have a rack and pinion on my 66. More on the conversion after testing. Just a quick overview, I kept the rear steer, converted my column with a roller bearing on lower end where I cut off the steering box, use 2 u-joints and a short connecting shaft...

    Rear disks on the cheap

I don't know if I would have used crown vic parts even if I could have found them cheap. From the conversions I have seen, I don't like the mods to the e-brake cables. As far as chevy parts, hey Bendix makes them, they can't help that GM used them. They are happier parts now.

    Rear disks on the cheap

I have been playing around with an ideal to swap my rear brakes (factory drums from a Maverick 8") for some time now, just didn't want to pay the price. So I started measuring and figuring. Found that the rear disks from a 93 - 95 Gran Marq or LTD where $22 bucks each from AutoZone. Then I found...

    What type of a fitting

More 1/16 NPT info The 1/16th NPT is the same as a 5/16 fine thread but with a slight taper. You still may have a 1/16 npt.

Still need Motorsport EFI harness help

Still cannot get power to the fuel pump on my 66 EFI conversion. I can wire the MSD pump straight to the battery and it runs. No signs of life when hooked as directed on the Motorsport harness instructions. I have checked the wiring about 50 times, have power everywhere I think I should. 1st...

    What type of a fitting

NPT FYI FYI, just for info sake, ( I agree it's probably a 1/8 NPT) but there is a 1/16 NPT size. some of the NOS jets use this size. If you need fittings for the 1/16 NPT, you will probably need to check with McMaster Carr or other industrual supply house for the taps or fittings.

Motorsport EFI harness problem: kinda long

Ok, I am so close after 2 1/2 years of work. Ready to fire it up, but no go. I am using a Ford Motorsport harness which I have checked the connections about 30times now. I did find some great help on www.ford-trucks.com/article/article.php?id=107&action=print . I have checked the following...

    Amp meter question

I'd like to swap out the amp gauge with a volt gauge, keeping everything in the orignal cluster. Actually it's a Ron Francis kit

    Amp meter question

I'm really starting to dislike @#$#@# wiring. OK the new wiring kit is almost installed, everything is testing out but the blinkers and I think it' a flasher unit. Reading the tips from Ron Francis they recommend not running a amp gauge with one of the high output alt. I can see the logic, in...

    Ign Switch wiring connections

Rated Amps for Ign switch Does anyone out there know how many amps is safe to run through the switch? I have added relays to my H4 headlights and horn, can everything else run through the key switch. I have a new fuse block that uses the blade type fuses but only has one power feed. Since I...

    Ign Switch wiring connections

I am finishing the new wiring and have ran into a question. Looking at the picture, the spade post in the 6 oclock position, should connect to the battery as incoming power. The threaded connection in the center is key controlled power out, the spade connection at about 2 oclock engages the...

    EFI Throttle Cable Bracket

Don't know if it will work on a 67 or not, but here is how I handled the problem on my 66. Using an original 6 cylinder throttle setup, I added a heim joint and aluminum tubing. I connected this to the throttle plate on the throttle body. I am running an AOD trans, that's why you see the...

Don't know if I would ever go in this direction or not, but I will say that's some nice looking fabrication.
