Who's Only Had 1 Mustang Since They Joined?

I have had the 1990 since May of 1993. Don't plan on selling it for a long time either.

    Any "old" stangnetters left?

Not a super old member, but have been lurking around the last 8 years or so. Don't have as much time since I started my own business, but still check the treads every week or so.

    Engine Hoist

Looks like I will go look at it and measure it on Monday and probably get it. Seems there are a few people that have used it and had good results. There is only one place to rent a hoist from locally and it is expensive at $70 a day for a 2 ton hoist. I really don't have the room to store it...

    Engine Hoist

Last post edit, fingers couldn't keep up with the thoughts. Thanks guys. NikwoaC, that is the one that I was looking at. I have bought a few things at Harbor Freight and it has been hit and miss on the quality of it. I was more concerned on the hoist not going up tall enough to clear, with...

Thanks guys. NikwoaC, that is the one that I was looking at. I have bought a few thing at Harbor Freight and it has been hit and miss on the quality of it. I was more concerned on the hoist not going up tall enough to clear with the car up on jack stands. I am to the point where I need to...

    Engine Hoist

Anyone used the Harbor Freight 1 ton hoist to remove an engine? I can get a good deal on one, but am unsure if it is tall enough or will extend far enough. If not, what hoist do you suggest and have used, brand and size?

    Crankshaft???

Thanks for the replies guys. I found out more info about the crank last night. I was thinking it was a new crank, but I was wrong. Turns out it had Big Chevy journals a 2.2 it think. So he had Crankshaft Specialists in Memphis grind it down, then chromed them, they are still chevy size...

    Engine build questions

Thanks for the reply RangerJoe, that is what I was looking for mostly. FastDriver, I was looking at the clearance between the skirt and the rods. I have heard that there is a safe number for the clearance, meaning as the bearings wear, it still gives safe clearance without causing major...

    EMS recomendations

Several people from my car club use the FAST system. It seems very robust everyone likes it. An when I get to this point I will probably go this route as well. I included a link below. FAST

    Engine build questions

Of those that have built a 331, did you have to clearance the cylinder skirts, or anything else? Also what is the correct clearance for the crank and rods from the block? Third question, I knew my current crank had been ground down before, but I recently had it checked and the machine shop...

    Piston to head clearance??

Thanks stro270, but I know how to do that and that is not what I asked. As I said I am looking at a slightly used block, which means it is not in my possession. The block has dished twisted wedge pistons and I don't have Twisted Wedge heads. I was just wondering is anyone had used dished...

    Piston to head clearance??

It looks like the pistons are dual relief Rick. They are Probe dished pistons (14.2cc). The short block is a 327 in a Dart Sportsman block. I had my heads reworked this last year and had planned on putting them back on my stock block. But with my turbo plans, I am looking at different...

    Piston to head clearance??

I am looking at buying a slightly used short block that has twisted wedge cut pistons (dished). I will be keeping my current TFS High Port Heads which are not twisted wedge ( I was using cut flat tops). Does anyone know if the piston to head clearance will work with the two different styles...

    Dart 331

No, I am only on stangnet, but thanks for the pictures. Just a few more questions? First is the block painted? If it is what did you use to paint it and what color? If I bought this I am trying to avoid tearing it down and having it vat washed, as I need it a certain color is why I asked...

Is this motor used or new? If used, how many miles and or passes on it? Why are you selling it? An finally do you have any pictures of it? Feel free to post here or PM me. Thanks.
