New brakes are a bit weak

Rusty, Agreed. The forums are here for people to discuss their common interest and it is natural that folks will seek out or offer opinions. I did speak to the OP. Adjustment of the rear brakes is always the first suggestion when excessive (soft) pedal travel is experienced. If a soft pedal...

New brakes are a bit weak

It has one. There is either a red residual pressure valve attached inline after the proportioning valve or attached at the rear outlet of the master cylinder (our new MC are configured this way). BTW, I'd prefer that you bother me, give me a call anytime. I don't believe that the forum is the...

    Scott Drake "quality"

Sorry GT, but Platonic's estimate is reasonable, maybe a bit high. 1000 of these would last awhile, so tooling cost would be amortized into the unit cost. At $3 a part ($3000 for 1000 parts), plus packaging and distribution cost, the wholesale price would need to be upward of $7.50. I'd guess...

    Scott Drake "quality"

Well said, I couldn't agree more. Poorly made products have no nationality. Vendors respond to the demands of the market. Many buyers spend weeks pouring over competing parts catalogs looking for the best price. Its not surprising that some vendors resort to cutting corners to be able to...

    Disc brake conversion

That's fine, and I understand the frustration. That said, I take customer service and our reputation for value and quality very seriously. Taking your phone call early Saturday morning, and answering emails all day Saturday is illustrative of this commitment. I just don't think it is...

    CSRP Disc Brake Swap Problem

I believe that the OP has resolved this issue as a failure to bleed the system. 2+2GT, the problem that your employer (Glazer-Nolan) had with the booster was entirely an installer issue. I spent a lot of time with tech service on this issue and extended the courtesy of sending a replacement...

    Disc brake conversion

The original post is a perfect example of how it is not useful or fair to air ones dirty laundry on the forums. The facts are seldom heard. It also allows respondents with an ax to grind, and undisclosed associations, to make snide remarks. The fact is that this kit was purchased several months...

    Spindles?

In general, a disc brake conversion on a 65-66 4 lug Mustang requires that the wheels be upgraded, even if the upgrade is 4 lug.

    Spindles?

Let's end the BS. Chocko knows better but never allows the truth to get in the way of his commercial interest. There is a lot of this in this thread, and in the forums in general. All BS aside, owners of 6 cylinder 65-66 Mustang can upgrade their Mustangs brakes in 4 basic ways (The cost...

    Spindles?

The situation with manual steer pre 1966 6 cylinder Falcons and 6 cylinder 65-66 Mustang is not that simple. You can not simply slap 65-66 V8 spindles on (even if you can find them) and then upgrade the brakes. The steering geometry of the 6 cylinder linkage is not correct for V8 spindles. The...

Anyone here own this 66 fastback? CA- NJL 765

I find the "can't live without AC" talk amusing. Up until about 1990, AC was not that common on cars (or homes) sold in California, or anywhere else but the south. I didn't have a car with AC until 89. I'd be willing to bet that only a small percentage of first generation Mustangs were...

71 mustang disc brakes on 68 conversion question

They will mount directly provided you use outer tie rods and bearings spec'ed for a 71. Those brakes are essentially the same as 68 OE disc brakes. The difference being the diameter of tie rod mount hole and the stub axle.

    disc conversion on 1968 mustang

No, the Granada spindle with Granada tie rods will fit a power steer 68-73. 68-73 did not use special power steer tie rods.

    disc conversion on 1968 mustang

I don't believe that the provenience of the brakes will be an issue in the future. For those owner where it is, a complete parts list is included with every kit. We also offer a kit that uses 68-73 correct calipers/hardware/hoses (70-73 rotors). Fact is though, the typical buyer wants utility...

    disc conversion on 1968 mustang

There are two models offered. One is dimensionally identical to the Granada spindle, and the other is the same except the steering arm is configured to yield stock 65-66 steering geometry.

    disc conversion on 1968 mustang

Steve, I applaud your eloquent effort to clarify this issue. The Granada swap has been and continues to be a useful and effective method to convert the front drum brakes to disc. That said, I suspect that you are wasting your time. You have probably followed my long running effort to rebut the...
