The K&N did not lean out the A/F ratio AS MUCH as the MMR kit is doing. The K&N filter is also not opening up the MAF wider than stock like the MMR. The meter is reading the same air rushing by the meter based on air velocity but there is MORE air going past the meter - so the meter is not...

Do a search on the MMR Kit and you will get some useful info on WHY you need a tune (or why not - depending on who you think is more accurate). If Steeda says you need a tune with their kit, then it must be true (based on their testing, the A/F may have been too high).
