    Quad City Area Mustangs

Which year range of motor you're looking for might be helpful if you have a preference between 5.0 & 4.6. I don't know of any off the bat, but that doesn't mean they're not there. BTW, welcome to Stangnet.

    Quad City Area Mustangs

I'm living in Moline as well, but I rarely cruise these days. Last time I took the car out was to Cordova several weeks ago.

    Possible new car...Input please!

I'd say $3500 is definitely too much for a '91 with exhaust, unless it's got a lot less miles than being a cop car would suggest (often stop and go traffic). Depending on how much time you have with it before buying, you might want to compression test several or all of the cylinders. If it's a 5...

Mid West If You are in IL IN MI OH WI Register here

I've heard of Rochelle. I used to stop there for gas when I visited Milwaukee. Have you ever been to Cordova Dragway? I was there yesterday and it looks like I cooked a head gasket. Byron's closer to you, but I haven't been out there before.

    Rattling noise

For those following, I'm going to put my guess down as damaged piston rings or valve seals. I think there would be an obvious amount of coolant and white exhaust smoke if it was a head gasket, more than is suggested by the post, but who knows?

650 or 750 Carb For My 357, That Is The Question!!!!

According to Holley's own website, your engine revving to 6300 RPM's should do just fine with a 650 CFM unit. Even if you had 100% volumetric efficiency (which you're more likely running between 90-95%), you'd only need 651 CFM. http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/FMS/FMSC/FMSC.html

Need Opinion, Will These Fit My 92 Gt?

Afraid not. I'd have to agree with TheUser. I had a Camaro with 275/45-17's and while those were actually smaller diameter than my original 235/55-16's, I would think in your case that the 18's diameter and 265 width combined will cause rubbing in the front any time the car dips or when you...

Anyone have a homemade CAI for a Fox?

I haven't done a cold air intake for my Mustang (because it's carbureted) but I put one together very easily for an LT1 Camaro I owned. I ordered the piping through JC Whitney ( http://www.jcw.com ), got rubber couplers from Lowe's home improvement plumbing dept., and a K&N RE-0910 clyndrical...

Question for 750 CFM Carbed 5.0 owners here please

A quick related question, someone was telling me that nitrous increases volumetric efficiency, even beyond 100% overall. It kind of makes sense, but can anyone verify? I'd hate to run too lean and kill the motor.

Question for 750 CFM Carbed 5.0 owners here please

The main relevant specs for the car are currently as follows: stock shortblock, TFS Twisted Wedge heads, 1.6 RRs, E303 cam, Mac longtubes, ORX pipe, Flowmaster catback, WC T5 tranny, 3.55 gears, Aeromotive A1000 fuelpump. The intake will probably be Edelbrock RPM AirGap, and the carb is yet to...

Question for 750 CFM Carbed 5.0 owners here please

This is related to a thread I posted a couple weeks ago about people running carbureted 302's which looks like it might be lost. I've decided to go with a Holley 4150 HP Model, but I am still trying to choose between the 650 CFM and the 750 CFM units. Okay, here's the question: In general, has...

    Firing order

5.0 firing order should be as follows, according to Chilton: 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 (that's in a counter-clockwise rotation on the distributor)

    Suspension Problems

If you're going to change any springs at all, I'd go with the rear springs. It's going to affect the stance just as the fronts would, but they'll also make a difference in how firm the jump is and how much give is allowed before the chassis will brace the rear axle against the pavement. You...

    Issues with new motor

I know that it's been ages since this thread was last posted, but I'm a friend of sukkoi's and just joined this month. FYI, it ended up that the race fuel helped. He runs a mix of 93/110 oct at a 5:4 ratio or so to stop detonation. Even with timing set a 0 degress, it detonates at acceleration...

    Suspension Problems

Last year a buddy of mine managed a consistent 1.6 60' in his '91 LX using the Eibach drag springs, Mac upper/lower control arms, and I think that was on weld draglites w/ ET Streets. He also pulled the A/C and front sway bar to help with that. Still using a 302, but it hooked like a beast...

    quad city area stangers?

Hey all, I'm in Moline and usually cruise either Friday or Saturday nights. I used to be around in a Z28, but I traded that and now have a '91 Mustang project car in the works, should be ready in a few weeks. If anyone wants to chat on AIM, that would be fine to coordinate cruising sometime.
