I've got this intermintent thumping sound coming from the front end of my 89. It kind of sounds like a bad tire. I can only hear it at speeds above 35mph, and It goes away when I step on the brake. I'm wondering if the lower ball joints could be the cause of it, my car has almost 220k on it.

I recently had a quick ratio steering rack (15:1) installed on my 89, and the bump steer has become more noticable. Would a bump steer kit solve the problem?

My 89 NA 2.3L has a starting issue. When I turned the key it just clicked and the car lost all power. I was able to get it started again by disconecting the positive battery terminal. Im not sure what to check for, Could the starter solenoid be going out? Or is it the starter? The battery on...

I measured the pipe and it is 2 1/4. So I get the same size outlets on the muffler right? I dont know anything about welding exaust system parts together.

So today I found a crack in the back of my 89's muffler. I was thinking about replacing it with a flowmaster muffler or some other kind of performance muffler. what size exaust pipe do 2.3 mustangs have?

What trans do you have?

The clutch pedal on my 89 has decended. Its lower to the floor than it was. It happened when I drove to Reno from Kalama, WA. It also looks like the trans may be leaking (it wasnt before I left) Im wondering if I have a bad linkage or a more serious problem. :shrug:
