^how safe is it to drive as is? and if you were to guess about how much would a shop charge?

i'm lookin at a 5.0 stang with a bad valve stem or something like that. i really don't know what that is but what he's saying is that its burning oil and gas. i was just wondering how difficult it is to fix/replace this? or about how much would a shop charge to fix it? thanks

i'm kind of confused. i'm lookin at a 87 5.0 on craigslist with front end damage. he says there is no frame damage but since the accident, the radiators been havin some problems. so i'm wondering how could the radiator be hit without causing any frame damage? yes, i'm a n00b.
