From what I understand they answer as "Ford Racing" instead of "SVT" now... :( I was also told that in the near future the Certs. will be available but for a fee. :( Guess I should get off my butt and do this!

Hey U.M. (not sure if this is allowed, if not just delete this) anyway there is a guy on SVTP who runs a Ford parts dept. (is he here as well?) anyway they sell ALL Ford and Ford Racing parts (SVT included) for 10% over cost. I saved about $400.00 when I replaced the side skirts on my Lightning...

So what happened? I was gonna buy a 98 KB Cobra and the dealership said it was sold. I went and bought my Lightning and they called back the next day and told me they made a mistake and that they didnt sell it afterall. Im very happy with my L though and Im glad I didnt buy the Cobra. :) L's rule!

This *should* be a well known problem to any tint installer worth a ****. Id take it back and demand compensation or a professional fix. Thats just pathetic...

Why do you need to get rid of the Cobra? That is exactley what I was going to buy (98 black Cobra) but ended up with the L instead. Very happy I went this route. I understand about money too, I have 3 kids and Im tryin to buy a house so... Yeah wont be doin much for a bit.

Mine gets about 14ish. Stay out of the boost most of the time to get decent mpg's but you will find that a very hard thing to do! L's are *very* easy to make 12sec. capable. spyne is right though on the svtp thing... I say buy one. Heres a pic of mine:

So I have seen that a few people have asked about wheelskins and I installed mine today. I think it looks great and it feels really nice. I almost ordered one in white/black for $35 (or w/e they cost) but I lucked out and found one in the right size and color combo on ebay new for 20 shipped...

The noodle brain who owned it before me had hideous fake side pipe things on there. I know I need the skirts but man they are expensive... Thanks for the kind words! Edit* You can kind of see them in the first set of pics, needless to say they are taking up space in a landfill by now.

Well the Cobras sold out from under me but I found this and bought it. I Couldnt be happier I had actually called about this before looking at the Cobras but I didnt think I could afford it. Turns out my credit is better than I thought and I got an awesome interest rate! :nice...

Well BOTH cars sold out from under me. :mad: That doesnt mean that I didnt buy an SVT product though...

Alright I'm taking tomorrow the 23rd off. Ill let you know what I find. Not that anyone is looking in this thread. :rolleyes:

Thanks for your input! It's been a while since I've had to smog a car but the last time I had my 85 GT in they were installing the dyno for smog purposes. They are very strict here and its become a nightmare. Which is one of the reasons I have been buying new cars and trading them in before smog...

Ok I have asked a few questions about a 1998 Cobra that I am interested in buying. Just so you know I was going to buy it but at the time I was on disability for a work injury but now that I am back to work I qualify for the loan. The 98 is bone stock w/ 65k miles and is a nice triple black...

Oh and btw the mods have a looong history of cute CT's here on SN ;)

Friend of the fam got shot in the back a couple of weeks ago by high school kids. I have also personally seen someone get shot at by a high school kid. Maybe its just here but the kids have gone mad.
