First Road Trip, a Couple of Issues

I would verify it with something other than the Garmin just to make sure. I have used a handheld Garmin GPS in a few cars when I was the passenger and it always seems to read lower than the car speedometers. It's probably the speedometers that are off. I never tried it in my mustang (I'm...

    Most expensive accessory

It's paved, but I need to blow all the leaves, pollen fronds and miscellaneous other stuff off of it. If it's wet it sticks to the tires. It's a very wooded area. I'm finding I need lots of things from Home Depot now. Leaf blower, lots of extension cord, hedge trimmer, a mower for the tiny...

    Most expensive accessory

I just bought a $268,000 accessory for my 06 mustang GT! I had been living in an apartment for the past 12 years, but after getting the new stang couldn't stand not having it in a garage. I looked and looked for the perfect garage and finally found it. Amazingly, the garage comes with a very...

My 1 month old GT just got a NASTY paint chip, opinions please

Southern Colors I know someone who has used this place many times with good results: http://www.southerncolors.com/ I would probably go to them if I got a bad enough scratch since I live in the Atlanta area. From what I've heard they can professionally fix all the dings you've got...

    Reached Top Speed Today

I thought there was both rev limiter and speed limiter. I know mine has a rev limiter (6250rpm), because I've hit it, and it's *very* noticeable.

    Complaint Letter

Yeah, you really just have to find the right dealership/salesperson to deal with. I guess I got lucky with mine at a dealership here in Atlanta. I mentioned X-Plan on the phone before I even went to see the car and had them agree to X-Plan price first. They were the first dealership I had...

    trouble

I have a new 2006 GT and mine does it as well. I called the dealership I got it from and the service guy I talked to hadn't heard of it, but I knew of it as a common problem long before I even bought the car. It doesn't bother me too much, I can use the setting for midlevel/floor heat, and...

    Tranny problem?

You're not going to freak them out or scare them by flooring it with a tech in the car. They're used to it. In many cases that is the *only* way to get certain annoying problems fixed.

    Tranny problem?

I'd probably take it back to the same service center, and have one of the techs ride in the car with you while you demonstrate the problem to them.

4th month in a row of lackluster Mustang sales

Yeah, I got mine in October. The dealership I went to here in Atlanta had quite a few 06 Mustang GT's on the lot, and several black ones, which is what I was looking for. They even did X-Plan for me. It helped that a friend of mine had just gotten X-Plan on a new GT from another dealership...

    Newbie

Maybe if you compare the price of a stripped down V-6 and to a nicely equipped GT you can get the 10K difference. I don't think there was that much of a difference in price when the new model came out, but the GT seems to have gotten a little more expensive with 2006. Total MSRP on mine was...

    2006 350Z vs. 2006 Mustang GT

Yeah, I actually was considering a new Z before the new mustang came out, but problems like that concerned me greatly. I think one theory is that the Z's were strapped down too tightly on the boat ride over to the states, creating a permanent negative camber on the front wheels. I think the...

    2006 350Z vs. 2006 Mustang GT

A friend of mine who I recently used to work with witnessed an 05 or 06 Mustang GT hand a 350Z it's lunch on I-285 (atlanta) last thursday. The 350Z got the jump on him but the mustang quickly overtook him and kept pulling away like a runaway freight train. The Z had been lowered and looked...

    Wheel Hop??

Well I've only had the car a week or so and haven't had a chance to really put it to the test. I don't want to tear anything up, and wheel hop really grates on the nerves. I did notice once that "falling on it's face" behavior you described when shifting fast with TCS on, but it only happened...

    Wheel Hop??

yep, I punched it in a parking lot on wet pavement and got wheel spin with the TCS off, then immediately tried on dry pavement and got wheel hop so I let off. I don't want wheel hop. I think I'll stick with traction control on.

    SLP Ludmouth and Magnapak Video..

On that video the Magnapaks had a deeper more distinctive growl. Deeper is better. I'd definitely vote for the Magnapaks.

My Engine is Out of My Car...All of the threads

Some industries just aren't very Web-Savvy... If Ford had any idea how much potential damage this one incident is doing to their sales because of all the potential new buyers who are reading this, you would have been given a new engine or new car on day one after taking the car in for service...

    X-Plan... Denied!

Thanks Doug, I just got off the phone with Tim. They aren't doing the X-Plan on any that they get on the lot cause they sell them at MSRP usually before the car even arrives. I may end up ordering from them under the X Plan, they seem like good folk to do business with. Oh, and I did...
