My '66 GT has factory manual steering. With that factory manual steering box I've installed the Shelby pitman arm and a matching rollerised idler arm. I intend to replace the manual steering box with the Borgeson conversion. Is there any reason why I can't use the Shelby pitman arm and...

spherical bearings on lower control arms

I've got the GW lower control arms you're referring to. No grease fitting, and yes, they are tight - I thought the same when I installed them. I've had mine on for 5 years, they work really well with no problems, go ahead and install them would be my advice....

    Straight 6 Power Upgrades

I've long thought the Australian Ford Falcon XR6 turbo engine would be wicked in an early mustang. Google Image Result for http://www.atholparkfordwreckers.com/images/uploads/BAXR6TURBOENGINE.jpg These alloy engines are pushing Falcons into the sub 10 sec bracket on Australian dragstrips...

    '66 - 12v source for EFI conversion ?

Thanks for your reply. My multimeter gives me a maximum of 9.6 volts off any power feed coming off the back of the ignition switch when cranking the engine over. I'm not talking about only the pink resistor wire here, I'm talking about all the power wires off the ignition switch. Is this usual ?

Convert GM T56 to Ford T56?

I have the chance to buy a new GM T56 at a great price. I'm thinking about putting it behind my 342 stroker. My car currently has a Modern Driveline complete T5 setup, including cable clutch. I know GM T56's have a 26 spline input shaft which is a different length to the Ford input shaft...

Unique Performance SR 350 Wheels - Can you buy them ?

Unique Performance used 17" rims on the 1966 model SR350's they made. I think they are Foose Nitrous II rims, but in a non shiny finish - sort of a graphite sandblasted finish instead of the shiny chrome look that Nitrous II's have. Does anybody know if those rims are available in the same...

Noisy Hydraulic Lifters - Any Fix Ideas ?

We're still no further ahead at the moment. The oil pump pickup repair has not made any difference, the tappets are as bad as ever, and the engine is still way down on power. Logic says it is an hydraulic problem, but the oil pump (which has only done 5000 miles) has been inspected and sems...

Noisy Hydraulic Lifters - Any Fix Ideas ?

You might call gudgeon pins wrist pins in the U.S I think. They are the bush that connects the connecting rod to the piston. Here in NZ they are known as gudgeon pins. We took the oil pump off this morning. The sump and oil pickup are a Canton 15-630 supplied new with the Roush engine. We...

Noisy Hydraulic Lifters - Any Fix Ideas ?

Well, we fired the egine up again yesterday after instaling a set of new hydraulic lifters. It is now worse than before in terms of noise, and has lost substantial power - presumably due to the valves not opening fully. To recap - the cam has been chcked and the lobes are ok. Valve springs...
