    AOD Filter change

I suggest you service the fluid no matter...if the trans is ailig, it might die sooner, possibly, however at least you know it was ready to go instead of giving up on a trip. For quick services I pull the bottom cooler line, hang a short hose off it, run the car till it pumps all the fluid out...

Can you swap a 2005+ 5 speed auto transmission in place of the 4R70W????

swapping in the 5r would be a downgrade IMO...as you can see from the gear ratio charts posted, you get the same 1:1 and OD ratio anyway...just just have to slap the shifter one extra time to get there...gay....do what you can with the 4R.

    95 Mustang Transmission problem

going to guess the OWC died, this will prevent 3rd usually, make 1st hard to engage, and lock 2nd most of the time.

    AOD went boom

definitely check that TV cable. If you are still losing gears, that might be it. Otherwise sounds like your direct clutch or input shaft broke...pretty common.

    AODE tranny not shifting

I would be sure it is full, yes, and check the codes as well. Make sure to use Mercon V as well on service. Could be VSS or MLPS sensor. Note that defualt is 2nd gear, so let us know if it is running up in 2 or 1.

    AODE Bouncing into gear

Sounds like it might be slipping a tad on the shift...is it kind of like a slide bang. Probably a broken accumulator spring.

Torque Converter is on its way out?

That AODE needs some help in the VB first of all....and as for it being built to be tough, if you can't proove what was installed, we have to assume it is stock.

    thinking of ditching the E-cam

e cam is not a powerfull cam, rather a nice sounding slight upgrade. It is show more than go. If you want to stick with LETTER cams, the x is good. Otherwise, comp baby....or crane 2030, 2031 are nice as well for your setup.

Can i make a non roller motor into one?

I now see that the motor in question is 88 302...in that case....it should be a roller already. easy way to tell, is if it is wired from the distributor the same as mustang. The non roller 302 has old 302 wireing.

    forever asked question

the FOX/SVO/Lincoln have front HUBS with integral rotors....the HUB HOLDS THE BEARING and the disk is machined part of it. The SN95 is 2 peice hub system with a rotor that is replacable...this setup is lighter and easy to work on. The two can not be mixed and matched. SOrry. So, yes...

Can i make a non roller motor into one?

call me crazy....but the 88 351 block is roller engine....just FORD never installed roller lifters or cam. So I will go on a limb and say installing 302/351 roller lifters into the engine with a roller cam will make it a roller. The lifter bores were designed taller for the roller lifters...

    AOD seller question

No the shift kit involves drilling the Vb seperator plate and putting a hold in one OEM gasket. I was just saying that if you choose to remove the VB so you can take pics to prove the shift kit was installed - you might have to invest in a new gasket cause they are not exactly reusable aftera...

    AOD seller question

The seperator plate will have enlarged holes in various places. I can send you a photo of a stock VB and you can compare it to the one in there. But, if the thing was run much, you would have to invest in a gasket if you rip the one you have. Just sell it.

    Mods to a '94 GT/AODE

Well, I drive 4000lb cars, so the gears are a must for performance and power usage. But the truth is, if a datsun pulled up along me at 80mph on the hiway, I really have nothing left in terms of acceleration. But MPG went up, town/street and seat of the pants performance went up, and my...
