    Broken speedometer on '98 GT

The speedometer on my '98 GT quit working a few weeks ago. Prior to that, it would do some funky jumping around or stay completely on zero. It finally gave up the ghost when it did a complete sweep of the gauge and the needle now rests on the other side of the peg. I swapped out the VSS this...

Installed my Speedhut gauges today, with pics :) For those considering them...

Thanks for the reply Sonic04GT. When it comes time to order mine I'll just shoot them over a pic of yours. :D These will compliment my Autometer Cobalt gauges that I have in mine.

Installed my Speedhut gauges today, with pics :) For those considering them...

Those are definately some sweet gages and I'm considering a set myself. Questions: Was the Ford Racing your own design or theirs. I can't find it on the customizing portion on their web site. Also, was the 'x1000' on the tach text you added or was it standard. Thanks.

A Few Fresh Pics **With the Bassani**

Nice! But watch out for speed bumps. Bassani's generally sit low and with your springs...

Best location for new gauges: A pillar or in-dash?

Well, I went ahead and ordered the in-dash. The pics look good. Plus, I prefer to remain a little less inconspicuous -- something the pillars won't give me. Speed of sound pillars? Nice, but more than I want to spend.

Best location for new gauges: A pillar or in-dash?

I'll be putting in 2 new gauges soon: oil pressure and water temperature. Not sure if I want to locate them on the A pillar or in the dash bezel with a gauge on each side. To those who have one or the other or both: I would prefer the in-dash bezel but how viewable are the gauges? Looks...

All you guys running 315's out back....

Do you have an aftermarket catback? I had this issue with my 275s rubbing my Bassani catback. The guys who installed my 315s also do custom exhaust work so they dimpled my pipes and bent them a little to get them out of the way. Also, you may have to get your rear fenders rolled (mine...

All you guys running 315's out back....

Congrats on your purchase, heard nothing but good things about GSD3s, not to mention a killer tread pattern. They'll be my next set.

Newbies needs help:Calling all speaker and stereo gurus!

Excuse my newbieness but when it comes stereos and speakers that's what I am. I have a '98 GT with the Premium sound system and I recently but in a Pioneer aftermarket receiver to replace the stock unit. Recently my speakers have been going in and out. First they all work, then only the...

    1997 4.6 gt Hesitation problems?

The Seafoam, spark plugs and a fuel filter change will definately help. Try cleaning the MAF sensor with carb cleaner and washing the K&N in soapy hot water as well. Don't expect THAT much and welcome to the hanging RPMs of a non-PI'ed 4.6L. The first thing that's noticeable with a PI...

All you guys running 315's out back....

Nothing wrong with it, it just comes down to a personal taste. Lots of guys are running mismatched tires in the front and rear. I'm running BFGs up front and cheapy Sumitomo's in the rear. I'd like to try GSD3s but there price is just

    Hood Opinion please.

What adapter are you using and does it really neccesitate a new hood? Maybe a used 96-98 Cobra hood? I'll sell you one. :D IMO, the best looking hood for any SN95 and for clearance is a Cobra R. The words cheap and good do not go together. Unless you can find a used one, you have to pay...

    Steeda Race Wing FTMFW!!!

Actually, the black wing on a silver stang looks pretty cool. Sort of Mach-ish looking.

Is it okay to have a wheel stick out past the fender just ever so slightly?

Not to answer for jivepepper, but there's no need for spacers on a 315 tire, they stick out enough. Love that blue Mustang.

Is it okay to have a wheel stick out past the fender just ever so slightly?

Get hubcentric wheel spacers and get a good brand (like Eibach and H&R) and you'll be okay. The problem I had with my 275's is when I went to get them rotated and balanced, the local Discount Tires will not mount a tire on a hub that has a wheel spacer on it. They'll take the spacer off and...

New Bullit pedals are a pain.....

Took me a couple of hours too and that's with boiling them and lubing them. The gas was the problem for me as I replaced the whole linkage. Squeezing into that small spot didn't help my back either. If I were to do it a second time it would probably take about 20 minutes.

Who here has driven 100,000 problem free miles on their Stang?

104K...the obligatory cracked intake manifold (upgraded to a PI) and a leaky radiator (upgraded to a Cobra radiator).
