As long as you don't have a mach system or have any coroded wires, then you should be fine with the factory wiring.

Which companies make good flip-out DVD player decks?

If you like the features on the Kenwood, go Kenwood. I'm just not a Kenwood fan at all, I'm Pioneer through and through. But the Alpine has the best sound quality no matter the situation or features.

Suggestions and links for Cassette Deck for 1969 Mach1

Well, 2/3 of what I've found is Custom Autosound on calmustang.com....lol Custom Autosound with or without cassette and with a 6 disk changer. Custom Autosound I think this is the one you were talking about. Kenwood from the same web site. There's a selection of different ones...

Suggestions and links for Cassette Deck for 1969 Mach1

Find some black looming and cover the wire. Loom up some of the other wires under yuor hood/dash with the same looming so all the wires look the same and nobody will even notice that it's a power wire for a stereo system. As for the shaft mount radio....may take a while but I'll see what I...

    Which head unit?

Bazooka has great amps, but 50% of the 16-19 year olds will crank the gain all the way up on the amp, max volume the head unit, and try to run the amp for 2 or 3 hours...not many amps that aren't top of the line will make it the duration. You wouldn't need a warrenty to cover the amp...

How many subs do I need?

MTX Superwoofers - 8500 and 9500 POUND! Infinity Kappa Perfects have better responce time and hit about the same. Audiobahn Immortal and Eternal series should blow your trunk open...and look good doing it. These subs all retail for around $500 each (+/-$100)...if your wanting to push...

    Which head unit?

System on a budget, huh? Here's a few of my recomendations...all from CC of course. lol Click the names to view them on their web page. Budget subs that pound with a good amp - Bazooka Budget sub box that doesn't take up much space - MTX sealed box Good noiseless Pioneer deck(I have...

    Which head unit?

I've always ran with Pioneer for it's durability. I have a Pioneer in my 83 L series that I bought back in 1995 and had it in 7 cars now, but it still plays AM/FM/CD perfectly. I've only owned 2 Alpines and they both broke in less then a year - tough luck for me I guess. Alpine is probably...

Hpw do I take the speakers out?

I whole heartedly agree. Best speakers hands down. The rears are tricky, the front doors are a little easier but can still be a pain.

$130 for a cd player install

The 5511 harness is not meant for the amplified system. The 5510 may be what we call an "add-a-head" harness at work(never checked the model number). With that one the factory amps will work and your volume will be high even at low levels on the radio. If you unplug the amps inside the radio...

    are theses good?

Where are you getting those from? I believe the 8000 series is an old model but I'm not sure how old. The new model is the 8500, probably no difference but you may want to find out how old those are. MTX makes some good subs. One of the installers at work has 4 of those build into his rear...

Do you guys cleaning out this forum every day or what? Each day there's more threads missing that I had replied to a day or two prior. I posted on a topic yesterday morning and told the guy I would get back to him about his 460 and now the thread is gone. Am I just missing the links to change to...

    mach 460 problems

Chances are that they did not bypass the two rear amps and the "pop" and "click" you are hearing are those amps shutting off because they are getting too much power from that head unit. CC guarentees all labor done and they NEED to fix the problem. I haven't worked on too many Mach systems...

    Where to mount fuse holder?

Only loom the wire, don't bother trying to loom the holder, you won't find many places that have that big of loom. Sorry If it sounded like I meant for you to loom the holder. Depending on it's size, you can zip tie it underneath some existing loom. I've seen quite a few that they have...

    Questions about a system

What exactly is "real" work? Our store has done a lot of custom work over the winter for people getting ready for the upcoming audio season. The reason I call them "chop shops" is because I have yet to see one in my area that does a decent job containing wires and not letting them stray all over...

NOT mustang related but audio problem

I'm mistaken, I was thinking of early model Preludes. The Preludes have 6v on constant and 6v on memory so if 1 if disconnected, the other functions normally with only 50% voltage. Best advice I can give you is to have someone look at it, most shops won't charge you to test a few wires and...
