Good point, Making 400RWHP and staying emissions legal does pose quite a problem with out a power adder.

I believe AFR 185s do come emissions legal and will support over 500hp(at the crank).As for an intake:shrug: should be somthing out there for a 351.

The AFR185s will work great on this combo. I run the XE274HR with 185s on a 306 with flat tops. I recently changed from e cam and edelbrock 2.02 heads and the car picked up 2mph even though I also changed to a viper spec T56 which is approx 70 pounds heavier and robs 4-5% more power than the T5...

The answer will depend on your rocker arms. This is copied right from AFR's tech artical for installation instructions on Ford smallblocks. I believe that the recomended Stud is .100" longer.

This was my thought, also. What tranny are you using? I read on here some time ago a fellow had a similar failure when using a 4 cylinder tranny, they have an approx. .250" longer input shaft. Good luck.

.060" is the absolute minimum, however .100" is recomended. I would not estimate the clearence by calculating the 1.7 ratio, use a 1.7 and measure it. good luck.

I have boxed upper and lower rear control arms with urethane bushings. The quad shock is not necessary as wheel hop is no longer a problem. The down side is the rear sway bar mounts inside the control arm. Once boxed the sway will no longer be mountable.
