    My 65 Came Home

Place called Pro Custom Autoworks, it is out Old Jacksonville, south of Grande, just before you get into Flint, on the left. He does nice work, and he has gotten to be a good friend too.

    My 65 Came Home

Thanks man! I got a big box of parts today, the stuff I need to finish putting it back together (at this point) but I had to take a night off and clean my Vert, it rained mud Sunday night and people were making fun of me because my car is always so clean! More pics to come as I make progress.:)

Time for a new hood...any opinions?

Please don't put a cowl hood on it, they look so wrong on a classic Mustang. The cowl hood is so overdone and it shows up on everything. Actually the cowl induction hood started life on a Camaro and a Chevelle SS. Just my opinion.

Thanks Jennifer :) Newer pics on http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=597365 Still working on putting it back together but it is home in my garage and I can work on it when I want to, not just when I can get out to the shop. When I get it done I am going to cruise Route 66 out to...

    Horrific, yet interesting

I have always been a fan of the Ranchero, I had a 71 White Sale Special back in high school, but I could never hack up a Mustang. Some of those were pretty tacky with the add ons too. The only one I would drive is the orange 65. I think I have seen that red 65/66 wagon in person, or one just...

    What exaust?

Depending on how loud you want it, Flowmaster 40 series sound really good, but a little loud, 50 series sound good but not quite so loud.

    Early Stang...WIW?

You are looking at 2 front fenders, a hood, headlight buckets, grille shell, grille, upper and lower valance and front bumper. If you are smart and stay away from repros ( Taiwan parts are really carppy) you are looking at at least $800. You could buy some used parts, maybe save a couple...

    My 65 Came Home

They will be soon, I have the GT style trumpet tips, but I have to get it put all back together before I can take it to the muffler shop and get them put on. Thanks for noticing, hey at least I used steel wool and Never Dull on the old chrome tips, they were covered in overspray. I am going to...

    My 65 Came Home

Got a couple of pics, it got dark too early. I spent the day hanging emblems and putting the headlights and taillights back on.

to console or not console, that is the question

Do it, the shifter looks so naked just sticking up out of the carpet in the center hump. The console finishes the interior IMO.

wheel bearing noise, or rear end??

My 97 Vert does it too, I always thought it was the tread pattern on the Nittos. I only hear it at lower speeds, on the highway I don't notice it. There is no insulation under the top well, Flowmasters are louder inside a vert too.

    70 Torino worth picking up?

My eyes are always open for a 70/71 Ranchero, I talked to a guy in my neighborhood a couple years ago with a 70, but about the time I started talking about buying it my 65 came up for sale and I bought it instead.

    Time to update the 68

If you like the style of the Bullitt wheels, they are a copy of American Racing Torque Thrust D's, one of the original mag wheels available. They still make them in all kind of sizes, you could probably get them in a size that would fit better and give less clearance problems on your car, also...

Updated pics of my 65 in progress

I use www.photobucket.com. It lets you set up an album for free. Search your computer for the pic and submit. Then when you want to post, I usually pull up photobucket on a separate window, start the post, right click on the link and select copy, then back to the post richt click and select...

    Time to update the 68

I like the Bullitts on it! How is clearance with those wide tires? It almost looks like it needs to be lowered about an inch or so because the 17's make the car taller. Just my opinion.
