its the 2.3, it doesnt have any power to begin with :p kidding though, hows the filter? mine was clogged like hell, didnt help the power. :)

what do you mean by hiccupping? might need a video or something to give a better description. if you have any intake and carb cleaner lying around, take off the IAC valve and give it a damn good spray in there. if you need help locating it let me know. :)

if you are looking for 400 to the wheels you are going to have to go forced induction. supercharged or turbo charged. its probably possible to do it with bolt ons but be prepared to pay a fortune for it.

for the plugs i used motorcraft original ones, because the heads are really deep on the 96 - 98 cobra i had to use a tool designed to get motorbike spark plugs out. take the plastic covers off of the plug wires using a small spanner, mine were hand tight so easy to whip off, take the plug wires...

hey matey, i had the same problem. to stop it i just changed the air filter. sometimes it always is the easiest things that make the difference. check the filter, if its a bit dirty get it changed. i wouldnt give it any more WOT runs though just incase its something a little more serious

the mach audio system has both a CD player and a tape player in 98, at least mine does. i bought a cassette to aux wire that plugs into the cassette player and use that. the sound quality is miles better than the normal tape, and you dont have to make your own disks anymore.

i never thought of the strains the original gears put on the motor. i have heard a lot about the 4.10's increasing wear and tear in the motor because of the extra speed the revs are at. surely if the engine is under much less pressure to begin with it would be less of a strain? its like riding a...
