I was planning on just pulling the pulley with my pulley remover, but knoticed an allen head in the pulley shaft. does the allen need to be removed or is it part of the shaft?

I did a collant system pressure test yesterday and found that the system is slowly leaking somewhere. I have narrowed it down to the head or lower intake. I suspect a cracked head and would like to rule that out. Would a compression test rule out a cracked head? I do not have a leakdown tester.
