    Serpentine Belt Help

    My smog pump locked up and ended up killing my belt. I got a 84.5'' belt so I can bypass the pump, but I cant get it on? How do I adjust the tensioner so I can get it over all the pulleys? Anyone have a diagram on how to best setup the belt? Its a stock 91 5.0.

    408 stroker opinions...

    Budget is 4k. I dont want to do a 302 based motor because I want room to grow, and i've always heard that 302's seem to break at the 500hp mark. Plus i want to put "5.8" on the side of the car :D

    Man I'm just looking for 12's, 11's on spray:lol: If I just did a 351 with that edelbrock top end kit, would that be good enough for 12's on street tires? 408 is looking mightily expensive.

    The car will be manual and to cut down on headaches it will be carbed. I do have quite a few friends that are very experienced engine builders, so I think that I could do most of the work with their help. Whats involved with building a stroker that would be so hard? I know it has to be bored...

    SHORT SHIFTER

    I have a hurst....like others have said it sucks. The shifter itself is awkward looking and it pails in comparison to the steeda trix-ax in my friends 5.0 as far as feel. I do like the bronze base though :lol:

    I dont have my factory airbox though, just a cai. I would prefer to drill/tap my lower for the two sensors.

    If you remember, what are the sizes of each? (egr coolant and act) Also, cant the act function if its not even in the intake system. Like it would still work fine if it was just in a cool part of the engine bay? Not looking to do this, just wondering.

    Will my stock throttle body work on it? I know its kind of pointless to upgrade my intake and run the stock TB but I dont have money for a new one yet.
