What are you paying for a new GT500?

Meh... I was 1st on the GT500 list at my dealer for over a year, and then they call me and tell me I will have to pay $75k at the lowest. I told them to shove it. From what I've been hearing of the GT500s is that they aren't near as great as advertised, especially with the extreme weight, so...

What are you paying for a new GT500?

I officially turncoated yesterday and ordered a new Corvette. So instead of paying $35k over MSRP for a GT500, I'm paying $8k under MSRP for a Corvette. Thanks Ford!

    Priced too high

I officially declined my right to purchase a GT500 on Saturday morning. My dealer set the price to $75k and said they had 6 more people in line. I hope the other 6 told them to screw off like I did :D

    Priced too high

I just talked to my dealer. He says they are now expecting the mark-up to bring the price up to $75k, which I will agree is far too much for a mustang. I wonder if I'm able to sell my first spot in line...hehe

    Why so few orders?

Haha, yeah, Sam Pack can kiss mine too... I had a poor experience with his North Richland Hills service center a couple weeks ago: 9 AM Saturday: tried to drop car off, but they skipped me in line 9:30 AM: finally gave them car 4 PM: called to find out no one had looked at it yet 4:45 PM...

Whoever is paying $600,000 for the GT500 (or any car for that matter, really) needs to be shot in the face. Wishful thinking...

2007 Shelby GT500 Pics and Specs

Wow. I hadn't noticed that before. That ought to be a nice pain in the ass for anyone that gets a blowout... I suppose it reduces a little wait, but damn, you'd think they could keep it available for the more "normal drivers"

    Engine ignition problem with 02GT

Hey guys, I started having a problem with my car last week...maybe someone around here can diagnose before I bother going to a dealer to check it out. Helpful specs: 2002 GT Manual Transmission 41.5k miles ~5k miles since last oil change, but oil seems fairly clean to not have caused a...

    Attn Voorhees: GT500 Vert pics..

Yeah, I'm told the main thing insurance companies look at (in TX anyway) is the number of cylinders. So the jump between a V6 and GT is possibly more. I had a V6 before my GT but I really can't comment because, being under 25, they screw me out of alot of money anyway. Good thing is I will be...

    Attn Voorhees: GT500 Vert pics..

JEEBUS!! I live in Dallas/Fort Worth and my '02 GT has been costing me about $1600 a year and I'm an under 25 male. My dad was getting about $1100 a year on his. $3k a year would be ridiculous. That's about what I pay in yearly taxes on my house, I think.

    gt-500 for 70k?

Well, they apparently know now buddy, or else he wouldn't have called me. He said they just found out, and he has no reason to lie to me. I've been in contact with the guy since March and he has had my deposit for just as long. Three sounds like a perfectly realistic number anyway. He did...

    gt-500 for 70k?

My dealer (Bill Utter Ford in Denton, TX) just called me 10 minutes ago. He said they are being allocated three (3) GT500s and they intend to sell them at "market price" but he can't see that being much more than whatever MSRP is. So I will be inclined to pay it as long as it doesn't start...
