Update. The axle went in fine. The ebrake works fine. I cut 3 inches from the stock cable housing and welded on the MarkVII ends.

Don't go with those junky quick connects! You can rob flare fittings from another transmission or get them at any radiator shop. Then go to the parts store and get some 5/16" tubing with the fittings and flares already there. I would get a 25ft roll and double flare them myself. It's cheaper...
