    Louvers

The Roush louvers are the hottest, IMO. I have a set, and they really, really set the car off. Adjusting the mirrors on the passenger side helps restore visibility (I have to lean forward to check it, but I can see what is coming). The slits are real (don't laugh, some are painted black to look...

    New moderator

I check in here every so often, but there was once a climate of trolling here and it has driven V6ers away. It is a shame, but the market has spoken.

    Posers?

Can't you just change out the center pieces if you feel that they might convey a false message?

    No Longer a Track Virgin!

Here are my major mods: Pipeline Turbo running 9.5 lbs of boost CHE LCAs, UCA, Panhard bar, and Brace Girdle Detroit TrueTrac 3.73 FR Gears (I have heard that 3.55 would be better for Turbo, but it was too late) JBA Mufflers (not major, but nice sound!!) Next I plan on DRs and a new...

    No Longer a Track Virgin!

Well, I popped my drag strip cherry today! Todd, Tony, and Nick were there in the 4.0 corner!! We kicked ass!! Todd and I spanked many a GT and Mach 1. What I learned: Third is sometimes hard to find. My car's weakest link is her driver. Do not let off the gas until after...

Chrylser has made my decision simple

0-60: 4.5 seconds 1/4 mile: 13 seconds As fast as the Shelby? No. Beautiful car housing a 6.1L V8? Absolutely! I would buy it for $40K (if that is what it will go for) and enjoy the hell out of it...

    what to do first???/

First thing that I would do is an intake and a tune. Then gears and a limited slip differential. Dual exhaust is nice, but not necessarily a performance enhancer. You will immediately feel the difference with a tune, intake, gears, and a LSD.

    Nitrous for Mustang

From the experience of others who juiced, a 100 shot is a good, safe level on a stcok engine.

    4.0L

Does it matter how the power is made as far as engine life is concerned? For example, would an intercooled turbo will be easier on the engine than say an intercooled SC? I am in the mid to high 300s for RWHP (need to get on a Dynojet for some SAE numbers). What kind of engine issues will I...

FFW Norwalk Debrief (info on stock 4.0L autos and video)

Man, you will be in the 12's, as soon as the weather cooperates. It's getting a little hot out here... Awesome runs, though, man!! I can't see the video because of my Net Nazis, but I will chec it out from home!! Congrats! Someone is finally giving John a run for his money!!

    v6 headers

Yeah, it is a guesstimate, probably on the high end!! :) I guess what I am saying is that there was a very noticeable difference after the installation. The cats are relocated from the diagonal to the horizontal area (still heatshielded), or they can be removed.

    v6 headers

No, more's the pity, but I sold the set-up to a member on the 4.0 Collective. Hopefully he will and let us know what he ends up with. However, I would estimate (just an estimate) around 230 RWHP and 260+ RWTQ. I was at 205 RWHP/240 RWTQ w/o the headers, chamber, HiFlo cats, and dual exhaust, so...

    Throttle Body on a V6?

I second that!! I had LTs, CAI, 3.73s, Prochamber, Detroit TT, and JBA mufflers (dual system) and I was strong but not 270 RWHP strong!! More like 230-40. I could have probably surprised a GT at a light, but beat him... Methinks not!! But he wouldn't have obliterated me. Add some suspension work...

How much power will a stock 4.6 handle?

Everything that I have read states that the V6 has forged steel connecting rods. And the V6 is prone to piston failure vice throwing a rod, so it makes sense. http://www.new-cars.com/2005/ford/ford-mustang-specs.html#engine http://www.carseverything.com/content/article/1521.4/ If I am...

    v6 headers

I don't agree, Shooter. I had LTs before I went to shorties for the turbo system, and the LTs produced noticeably more torque. MAC sells some LTs for about $300, and they took my mechanic an hour to install (if that). They sounded great and made more power. So if someone is looking to maximize...

How much power will a stock 4.6 handle?

Help for Your "Little Brother" I have been reading this thread with much interest. I recently had my 2006 V6 turbocharged and it is making quite a bit of power now. The V6 has forged rods but the pistons are the same material as the GT's. Does anyone know the HP rating on the pistons...
