Modern take off wheels, rod and custom front

I've got the rod and custom mustang II front end. What are the chances that some year's wheels are the correct size? I'm hoping to stumble across a craigslist find. I have the stock rear end with drums and the 9 inch ford disks up front. Thanks for the help.

    spraying POR 15

Has anyone ever heard of spraying POR 15 with a regular spray bottle; like an old windex bottle? I'm looking to coat the bottom of my coupe and this option was recommended to me.

    new wheel arches

    65. Thanks Nasa, but I ordered the part for CJ pony. It's the wheel flare plus some of the surrounding metal of the quarter.

    new wheel arches

My rear quarters aren't too bad, but I've been advised to get new wheel arches. (if they exist as a new part) Does anyone know of a place that just sells the arch part of the quarter?

    common questions from a rookie

I should have said that except for the headliner, glass and the wires everything is striped off the car. This pic is a couple years old (I"m slow with this project) but the cars seems in pretty good shape.

    common questions from a rookie

Thanks guys, this is helpful. I did already replace the driver side floor pan. Ive got the fenders off and I've striped them, primed them so they won't rust, but I wanted to make sure I cut out all the rust. I'm about half way through patching one side. Front frame looks good, I had help welding...

    common questions from a rookie

I've been slowly, very slowly working to restore my 1965 coupe. My dad bought it new way back when, he sold it to his dad in 72. It sat in my Grandpa's garage until 92. I drove it a bit but it sat while I went to college. Fast forward...it's completely apart in my garage. I don't know much...

    Spindles, brakes and steering

I'm working through my Mustang II suspension on my 1965 Mustang. I've got the cross-member and a arms from Rod and Custom. I'm looking at options for drop spindles, brakes and steering rack. One option is just to buy everything from Rod and Custom. (their website doesn't give brand names)...

make your own rear frame rails?

I blame spike TV's power block. I figure I've got a reciprocating saw and protractor this shouldn't be too hard. I'll figure out the angles/bends no big deal. I have a feeling you're putting it into better prospective. But it's nice to hear it's a good idea. Thanks

make your own rear frame rails?

What about the idea of extending the rear rails forward as frame connectors?

make your own rear frame rails?

I've got a 65 coupe. I'm still in the early stages of replacing rusty metal and I'm working my way front to back. I know the trunk floor and rear frame needs work and I know I want sub frame connectors. Considering it costs more than $200 for a full new rear rail do you think it's worth while to...

The "Mustang II" IFS Real Info & Debate Thread

interesting, In order to remove the arm once the panel is in place, I'd have to remove the part that holds the top of the shock. I hadn't thought of that. I'll be able to adjust it without problem. Why would I need to remove the arm? Thanks for the feedback.

The "Mustang II" IFS Real Info & Debate Thread

Question about shock tower opening When I cut out my shock towers I followed their curve as closely as I could. While I don't think the lowest part interferes with the upper control arm; do you think I should increase the opening (at the bottom at the frame)so that it is as wide as the...

The "Mustang II" IFS Real Info & Debate Thread

I've got the R&D cross-member in, it's time to buy more stuff... Willie has a bunch of options as far as brake kits. For those of you with experience, which brakes would you recommend? I'd like 2inch drop spindles and something more than a one piston caliper. I don't need top end, just...

Rod & Customs New Rear Coil-Over System

Any updates on this project. I too have the R and C front end, I've got it clamped into place. All that's left is everything. Question though; how do you like the Flamming river Rack? Anything you'd change if you did it over?

    Mustang 2 coilover arms

I've got the Rod and Custom Cross member. As soon as I get that welded in I'll buy the rest of the parts. My question is, is $500 a good price for a 4 piece set of tubular coilover arms? If I just compare prices what exactly should I look for? Is this something I could find at Summit, for some...

Those of you with Rod and Custom suspension

Couple questions; I trimmed the frame rail at the top outside. Just checking to make sure it's ok to leave the bottom edge. Also how much gap should there be between the two pieces at the top inside corner?

    valve covers

Should I buy tall or short valve covers? I've installed roller tip rockers and a new cam but other than that my valve train is stock. Is there a benefit to one or the other? Clerance issues? It's a 65 289, and I've got an Edelbrock intake manifold and may one day want AC. Thoughts?
