    there is another switch on the column where a plug goes in right below your key switch see if its loose the come apart easy and need replaced and check your fusable links coming off the solenoid

    read on here not to use newer model starter with carb set up thats what i have i am going to try an 88 model starter see if thats doing it.

    at the auto parts store it pulls up as a a starter selonoid its on the fender well i think i figured it out its a bad ground, casing on the wire looked good but inside was all messed up ,broken ,thanks anyway for the replys

    i keep having to replace starter solenoids put one on and it will work for a day or two then it goes bad relace it and it works for another day or two what could keep killing them any suggestions
