Progress Thread “Rising from Ashes 5” 86 4 eye T-TOP notch build

Cool! I’m not a member of FB, so I’ll let you know.
Its on the “down the road” list, but I may just get me a set soon, so I have them! Really like how you go about it!
Are you coating the back of the panels, as well as the original engine bay, with weld thru, or something else?
Yep. It’s coated inside and out with epoxy which is a direct to metal primer and then weld thru primer on both sides. But you can also cut the original panel out and weld these in since it’s heavier gauge metal than factory. Like this
Customer car which had extensive engine bay damage from a bad drag racing accident

Finished up the T-Top conversion Friday. I’m proud to say this is NOT a factory t-top coupe. It’s 100x better. All the cuts are precise, added extra bracing, coated inside and out. Welded in and riveted in. Used urethane to under the frame and sealed the this thing up every way possible. I could go on and on but it’s tight and even tho it’s not seeing rain, it will be leak free.

Man you can certainly " Git - R - Done !
Yea. I’m going to do an ole school build on this one, get it 98% done and then take it back to the guy I bought it from to get it running. He’s a former ford mechanic and now has his own shop but couldn’t handle the scope of repairs and stuff on this car. But his father left it to him and wanted him to build the car. So that’s why I have to make it happen and let him finish the car like he wanted.
